Costs are way too high. Every game is on tv. Parking is impossible without a pass. A lot of fans are still pissed at Miles for stupid mistakes. Combine all that and you get your result.
If you want people to stay the whole game the product on the field has to be great. The 90s were sad. We got good again and people were excited. That ended around 1998. It changed again in 2000 and now so many fans are spoiled that they don't appreciate it anymore. Combine that with a shitty home schedule and your fans look bad.
Just 15 years ago you could park within a few hundred feet of the stadium for free and get in the game for under $30. And you had a hunger for greatness so the whole experience was exciting.

I hear numerous complaints about how the stadium empties at half to how loud we regularly 'used to be'.
You must be one of those Gladiatorial crazed tiger fan's that were priced out and that is why you aren't in the stadium to know if it's filled with soccer moms, instead on your couch and bitching about it on the rant.

Tickets are scanned now. A little tweak of the scanner would allow one readmittance

Me too, It's sad that most people who don't have tickets, would just rather tailgate instead of going in the game.
I feel LSU is outta touch with reality sometimes with parking cost and ticket increases. They need lower tradition fees in some Sections. I would do the following to help with those who don't have A lot of money.
In these Sections below - Charge a Ticket price and Tradition fee - Like $350 + 150 = $500 Total cost
and THEY CAN afford to do it !!
SEZ Sec 405 & 417
NEZ - Sec. 206 , 237, & 238
In these Sections below -
Charge $300 Total cost.
East Upper - 630 & 643
West Upper - 610 & 619
If you look at the Seating Chart , these seats represent to worst sections in all the Zones (Except the Sidelines) I don't see them budging on those prices.
