If my old worn out memory is correct...that is the night Jeff W led the team out of the tunnel waving a green painted wiener, and it was a nasty arse rainy night.

It was a great season. I was a senior in HS. The loss to Mississippi St crushed me.

I remember Dalton running wild against Florida. Bear Bryant told Stovall "that was the worst arse whipping we have had at Alabama ".

I started LSU the next year. We were so stoked about the season. My roommate camped out for Student date tickets. Some guy named Bert Davis was leading the cheers and drinking all night. He may have later been admitted for alcohol poisoning.

Great memories....

Amazing Tulane fired the two coaches that beat LSU since 1948. - both damned good coaches and men

If my memory serves me the DL was Marshall, Bill Elko and Ramsey Dardar

Tim Joiner and Rydell Melancon at OLB. Al Richardson and Lawrence Williams at ILB, James Britt, Jeffrey Dale, Liffort Hobley (Ratfuc’s Dad) and Eugene (Toast) Daniel in the Secondary. Still my favorite LSU defense of all time.

That was the best starting 11 LSU has ever fielded, imo. Almost every defensive Starter was an NFL player, and most were starters. (Maybe every starter)

I went to all home games as I lived in BR then, and also went to some away games including the Orange Bowl. A great year and memories still.

True story, and you can see it on tape. As Gault runs by Daniel’s he turns his head and like the road runner says “Beep-Beep” then takes off

Liffort Hobley was the "safety" on the kickoff team. Had fun busting his balls about that play back in the day.

Really fun season, but lost to teams they should not have and beat teams we did not expect we would.

Hilliard still maybe my all-time favorite LSU player, definitely running back.

I always wonder if against Nebraska if we could have gotten the play off in time would we get a first down and score a winning touchdown

Even guys that were hurt that year like Ricky Chatman made the NFL. 3 Winnfield guys on that team, Tommy Campbell, Chatman, and Dale.

My freshman year was 1982, I remember that season "pretty" well. Lived in Hodges across from the stadium. All boys, no AC, hot as hell in the late summer/fall. So much fun, so may fond memories. I could actually pick myself out of the last picture after the FSU game. I was straddling the goalpost. I'll never forget that memory, that season, or my time at LSU. So blessed to have those experiences and so grateful for my life.
