He just needs to limit the walks. He’s known to give the big fly ball but that’ll play in this park.

He's gonna mow their asses down. I feel it. Hurd knows it's game time and he rose to the occasion last year. He's got this shite.

Ih he's off just go to little. Short leashe . He's gonna have to pitch anyway ,I'd rather him have less pressure than he would if it was in a win or go home scenario

I feel like that was the strategy in the World Series last year and it worked out well.

Did he “predict” that when he really knows, and tell us later he predicted that?

No, he is live right now & was emphatically saying it would be a wholestaff day

Someone texted him about 45min later, and he turned off his mic & called whoever it was & they told him it was Hurd. And had to come back & embarrassingly admit he was wrong lol

2-4 with 6.49 ERA this year. Opponents batting .294

Hope we see something we haven’t really seen this year.

We probably wouldn’t have won last year without Hurd pitching well and we probably can’t win this year without him pitching well. Tomorrow’s going to be a big day for the Tigers!

I agree on the walks but I worry more about him getting too much plate once he gets ahead. Granted most of his hits were in the 1st half Not many appearances (6) or innings (6) in the 2nd half but hits are down (4) and BB:K (7:8) is alarming.

I hope what we saw at OM last weekend is what we will see moving forward. We need him.

It makes sense. We're no longer playing just to make the tournament. Its back to managing this team to reach its highest upside and hopefully win the whole fricking thing

Fine with me. We need him to get into the groove for post season. Jay just better have the bullpen warmed up before the game starts.

Nice bold move from Jay. By giving Hurd the opportunity as the “next guy” behind Jump and Holman (especially after their outings), he could really help him get his head together in rapid time. He’s got the stuff, he just needs to get out of his own way.

I also don’t think there is anything that Thatcher could go through tomorrow that he hasn’t already experienced and dealt with this year. It can only go up from here. I’m ridin’

A little surprised he didnt go Ack or Anderson based on all the lefties carolina has. But i dont hate it. Dont really care if we win or lose, just want thatcher to pitch well

Interestingly enough, LSU beat South Carolina in the 2nd round of the SEC tournament last year. The LSU pitchers were…..Hurd and Ack.

I don’t know who it is, but he has someone that he texts from time to time that has inside info on who is starting. He would do it every once in a while on Sunday mornings on morning scone before the game. It’s good info.
