You’ve got to be a special kind of miserable to think tonight’s win meant nothing.

My two favorite moments:

1980 LSU Auburn homecoming (I was in the student section) actually had two great moments as bookends to the game. Auburn’s running back, James Brooks, fumbled the opening kickoff and LSU recovered the fumble.

But my favorite play happened at the other end. Up 17-14 with about a minute or so left, LSU had to punt and it was blocked. AUburn had the ball on the 11, no timeout and 49 seconds left. Marcus Quinn picks off the ball on 4th down and almost takes it to the house, pulled down from behind on the 26, to end the game.

2018 Georgia game and the harbinger game for the rest of college football as Joey Burrow makes a statement to foreshadow what was coming. This is the play.

Edited because I fat fingered the Auburn score

I don’t make many games, but was in the house for that one. Auburn fans were in shock lol.

It was good fun. Great to see our Tigers beat a Jimbo-led aggie team, and aggie fan base, that wants to beat LSU as badly as aggie wants to beat any body.

Things I heard leaving the stadium… a group of aggie talking up their win against bama, and a group of aggie very sarcastically discussing our bowl eligibility. I wanted to see our Tigers get to .500 AND this team get a win last night for themselves. Forever LSU

Tonight was fun and to be remembered.

But those other games had National Championship on the line.

03UGA will always be the best because it was the time LSU fans knew that the Natty was possible for the first time in 50 years

I wasn't there to claim last night.

To me, the closest comparison might be to the Earthquake game. That was a little bigger, because it was 4th down and Auburn had stuffed us all night... but it was the same improbable moment at the end.

We've all had memorable moments there that probably wouldn't be considered among the classics.

No doubt, I still remember Anthony Jennings hitting Travin Dural to beat Arkansas back in 2013.

but I can name 5 better moments in that stadium just in 2019 alone than the touchdown drive in a half empty stadium to stave off our first losing season since 1999 and send our disgraced head coach off into the Destin sunset with his bleached ho.

You can? I can't. Of course, 2019 was the most incredible season ever with tons of memorable moments, but in Tiger Stadium, we killed most of our opponents. Other than Burrow running out in the "Burreaux" jersey before the a&m 50-7 blowout, Florida and Auburn were the only close games with memorable moments (Stingley's interception in the end zone, etc.).

O seems to be making seriously morinic decisions in his personal life which affected his focus and he clearly needed to go, but the dumb blondes aside, last night's closing minute victory was great because it seemed so unlikely given our offensive struggles late in every game. It seemed pretty hopeless. It reminded me of when LSU hadn't had so much success and the LSU fans left in the stands and the players on the field were so hungry for a W. When I watched the replay of the TD, the fans in the stands were going berserk along with LSU's sideline. It wasn't a top 3 Tiger Stadium moment for me, but it was probably the best moment in the past few years and will be a lasting memory.

My top 3 (in no particular order):

Rohan Davey’s (basically playing on one leg) 25-yard strike to Robert Royal to beat Tennessee in OT. The win that pretty much put LSU Football back on the map.

Skyler Green’s game-winning catch against Georgia. Still the greatest game I ever witnessed in Tiger Stadium.

Chad Lavalais suffocating Cadillac Williams for a 5-yard loss on 4th and 1 at midfield, first quarter, 2003. Set the tone for a dominating 31-7 win.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Was there with my little boy for his first game in Tiger Stadium. When we went down late I looked over and there were tears streaming down his face. Had been worried all day about making his first game a loss and how it would affect his interest in the game and team (we don’t live in Louisiana so it’s not all LSU all the time where we are). I don’t have to tell you the rest of the story; you can imagine how things ended. For me that touchdown had nothing to do with O or saving a losing season; it may have made my boy a Tiger for life. He’ll never forget it and neither will I.
