Only losses to one of the best teams in the history of college football, respectable 10 win Florida team, and a group of officials and Kid Rocks dad.

It’s been a fun season. Only going to get better next year.

Losses to final poll #1, #10 and #19 on the road, with the loss at #19 being a complete sham...

Ok you’re right, it was a terrible season.

It wasn't a great season, and Ed Orgeron's choice of offensive coordinator is one of the biggest reasons why.

Considering it's now easier to get to a "BCS" or New Years 6 Bowl, I would say he's doing the bare minimum expected at LSU. 12 teams make the 6 big elite bowls compared to the 8 when the Cotton and Chick Fil A were smaller importance bowls.

that’s 12 teams after 4 make the playoffs.
so really 16 teams.

vs 2 in CG and 8 in BCS bowls
so 10 total

No. 10-2 regular season has always been the expectation. Did I miss something, or did LSU not fail once again to win 10 regular season games?

Les was fired for this; hell, why did LSU waste all that money to fire him if this was a great season?

no flame brotein shake. He got the most out of this team. This team had major deficiencies at key places and he got them to a great bowl destination.

. So all those 9-3 Les seasons, where were you? Were you like me wanting Les run out of town? If this SOS is less than 5 I’m gonna pee myself laughing at people like you considering LSU in 2015 had a 5 SOS and we ran his arse by the end of the season...

I supported Les but Lesticles lost 5 of his last 6 SEC games and was circling the drain. Not accurate to reflect his final days in the manner you have here.

Speaking of O-pumper hybperbole...

UCF is suddenly the greatest team to have ever graced a college football field. Missing their starting QB, under-sized, lacking LSU's athleticism and talent all over the field... this is truly the white whale LSU must slay!

I enjoy supporting the program without projecting unrealistic expectations on the players and coaches. Its fun, you should try it.

If we lose to UCF without their starting QB everybody should be ashamed.

There are some saying it was a failure. Which is hyperbole.

I’ve seen the special Ed’s saying how LSU is going to blow them out and it won’t even be a contest. Delusion at ts finest.

You’re not allowed to say anything nice about this coaching staff on this board. Should know this by now.

Well they didn’t score 25 points against Arkansas, so you really don’t have much leg to stand on with this whiny bullshite do you?

I think by and large this has been a good to very good job by this staff. Working with the handicap of below average OL, lack of a serious straight-up pass rushing threat, very pedestrian talent at the RB position, inexperience and occasional poor play at the WR position and the complete lack of a PR game, I'd say they did a nice job. I would make the contention that two of the three losses were to teams that had lesser talent, but both were close and both were on the road. One was incredibly fluky and the other a little harder to explain.

But, going to a NY6 BG and playing a team that has won 26 straight is definitely a feather in the cap of this staff. I will say that when I watch some of the play designs for teams like WVu and OU, I'm a little wistful thinking about what might be with a truly innovative offensive mind. I will say I believe the program to be on solid footing, really as solid as any program in the SEC other than Alabama (yes I'm including UGa who benefits of course from playing in the SECE, and as long as Saban is there, it is likely to be that way. Hopefully this staff keeps working as hard as it can and putting resources toward approximating that standard.

So it really doesn’t matter what the team accomplishes to you. Fair enough.

I don’t think it was unrealistic to expect a better offense than 104th in the country.

I don’t think it was unrealistic to expect a single point against Alabama

I don’t think it was unrealistic to expect better results than the previous coaching staff. Especially after you fire one who produce the same results you’re glorifying right now.

I guess some of us see things different. I sure as hell know the coaches and players expectations for the season were higher than yours.

We all support the program. We supported it for the last decade while they won 9 games.
Our expectations are just higher. We expected an upgrade. Our fault.

We may have broke Auburn Drago style. It was supposed to be their year now they hate Gus. Unbelievable performance in that game. Won great home game against 2nd best team in country in Georgia. Regained control of Mississippi. Got jobbed by Ags but still came out in great spot. Phenomenal year.

I suppose it depends on what the teams goals were. If their goals were to go to a NY6 bowl, then the season wasn’t a failure. If the goal was to win the SEC and make the CFP, then the season was a failure.

Failing doesn’t mean it was a terrible season, it just means the team did not achieve what they set out to do.
