"Looks the same"

When is the last time we finished in tbe top 10. We could this year and are currently #11. We were 15-11 against SEC teams in miles final 3 plus years. We have been 15-7 under O. We are going to a good bowl game this year. We have a lot of talent returning next season. I see things as getting better.

At least we are back to where we were in 2012 and 2013 teams and not like we had become in 2014 and 2015 or the start of 2016. And we are poised to do even better.

“ beating SEC teams once again”

Our SEC record is worse this year than it was last year and exactly the same as it was in 2015. We can try to spin the Aggie loss as much as we want, but it will always be a loss.

The Ga win was great, but the season wasn’t. 9-3 or 10-3 hasn’t been great for LSU football for yrs and yrs. It wasn’t for Nick or Miles and isn’t now for Coach O. I don’t think many LSU fans would have described 2004 or 2015 football seasons as great. We shouldn’t rush to validate this season for this coach with different standards tant we judged other coaches and other seasons by. imo

Considering it's now easier to get to a "BCS" or New Years 6 Bowl, I would say he's doing the bare minimum expected at LSU.

12 teams make the 6 big elite bowls compared to the 8 when the Cotton and Chick Fil A were smaller importance bowls.

this

Thats like USL bragging because they got into a bowl going 6-6. Everything is easier to get in these college football days.

I was not a fan of Les the last few years, and I'm the one constantly noting Les' underachieving SEC record (15-11 overall, 10-10 against the West) his last 3+ years.

But we were sold on firing Les to elevate the program, and I'm sorry, maybe it's been a slight elevation, but it hasn't been material.

Its not different standards. If things wouldnt have fsllen off like they did in 2014 and into 2016 and if coach miles would have at least seen the offense as being an issue he would most likely still be here

Losing to Florida bama and tamu is nit a great season.

Considering at the beginning of the season I assumed we would lose to Miami and Auburn as well I'd say we did pretty good.

And how many times did Les get into a NY6?

Its only been 2 seasons. It is takimg some time but at least it is getting better. If coach O cant get it done then Im sure we will move on to a new coach. Just not right now after a season like this. Maybe he will crash and burn in 2019 or 2020 however it is not looking like it. Just the opposite. With the 2019 and 2020 classes and with what we have returning i wouldnt count on it if i were you

Honestly i loved coach miles but i didnt need to be "sold" on moving on from him at that point in the 2016 season. Not with him retaining Cam and thinking the offense philosopy was just perfectly fine. Now if coach O cant get the offense going Im sure he wont be around long either. But 2019 offense should produce

Why? I'm sure there are tons of posts before the season saying that the 2018 offense should produce. Why do we think next year is going to be different?

Arizona in P&G will be awesome!

“ seen the offense at least is been a issue“

Really? I don’t even know how you can bring that up with a straight face. The offense is of a greater issue today than what it was in 2015 and Coach O implies that our OC is doing a great job.

Look, I think this has been a good season for LSU football and both the players and coaches deserve congratulations. With a bowl win, we will have the opportunity to break into the top 10 of college football for the first time in way too long. My frustration comes from the fact that three years after a coaching change made to some degree cause of a struggling O, we are being held back from being elite college football team by the very same thing that ihad held us back for years. Our offense doesn’t performed at nearly the level we need and it’s pretty much the same hair pulling playcalling philosophy that we’ve suffered from for years. We can say there hasn’t been time to make significant changes as much as we want, but the warning flags are there for everyone to see that this is as bout as good as it’s going to get with this combination of Head coach iand OC.

"Why will the 2019 offense be any bettet?"

There have been plenty of threads on this already. But in summary: Burrow is returning. We have a couple elite rb's commited right now. Couple of true pass catching TEs in Pettigrew and Moss. Jefferson, Marshall, and Chase at Wr all with a year under their belts. Oline deeper and experienced. Ensminger now with theses same guys and with a full year of experience with them as well. All having been battle tested and vets of the SEC wars. Plenty of reason to be excited about next years offense with or without Ensminger.

I understand and sympothise with your frustration. Many of us expected overnight miracles which havent happened at the pace we dreamed of. Now we are dealing with reality where the pace has been slower. I also wanted LSU to win the NC in 2017 and 2018 with a new head coach but the reality is it didnt happen. But am happy for the improvement and positive direction of the program

was a great coaching job this year. Talented but very ineperienced WR corp. Tough but not very talented OL group. Gritty but not explosive RBs. Tough smart QB. Got them in great bowl with chance to win 10. Super

Shitting on lsu players to prop up incompetent coaching.

The Georgia game proved this team is talented.

Ok you’re right, it was a terrible season.

Was 2013 great? What about 2015? What about 2012?

If 3 losses is great, we never shoukdve fired Miles.

Its like you dont understand there is middle ground between greqt and terrible.

I understand the reason for excitement, but it just feels like we go through this every year only to turn out mediocre, at best, offenses. Last year it was Davis, Sullivan, Anderson at WR with another year under their belts, Giles coming in, Burrow coming in after developing under Urban, and Charles and Ingram anchoring our OL.

Until I actually see improvement, I'll continue to expect lack luster offenses. I can already hear the "Emery was only a true freshman" excuses now.

last year they all cried we have No QB, our OL sucks and out WR's suck! we heard that all last year.

This year? same shite. when the Qb this year is better, and the OL had a worse sack rate last year than this year! We had one legit receiver last year while this year we had plenty returning with more time in system like dillon, anderson, JJ and sullivan. we got giles.

only thing we are worse at this year talent wise is RB.

This has become an interesting new narrative. I don't think we lack talent offensively, but comparatively our RBs are not the same talent level as we've had in the past. How can people gripe about us not getting Etienne? Are they saying our current RBs are good enough? Shitting on them?
