Posts such as this put it all in perspective. Sports pales in comparison to a family member's suffering. Great news that your son is on the road to recovery and getting his MBA.Win/win deal.

Here's to you and your son, Doc.

Great story. Since moving here, I've found the people of Louisiana to be some of the most gracious, kind and highly interesting people in the country.

My goodness. This is the third OD/death from drugs post I've read in the past 30 minutes. It just goes to show you how bad drug use is/can be.

I wish y'all the best of luck

My mother battled addiction and found her sobriety through treatment/hitting rock bottom. There is no better feeling than knowing that someone you love more than anything is finally safe. I'm happy for you and your son.

Wow, way to start my morning off on the right foot I am so happy you and your family are doing well, and your son has enjoyed his time at LSU.

There is nothing quite like a personal redemption story mixed in with a little parental love to get my day started right.

Baton Rouge paramedic here. Try to contact the medics and ED staff who worked your son. We rarely get to follow up with patients like this. A call or a card would mean a lot.

They would be happy to hear your son made a full neurological recovery and has his life on track now. The job is largely a thankless and underpaid job, but this news would make some jaded medic's day.
