If he did leave my first call would be to Tony Robicheaux.

The only reason I'd say to hire Robichaux is because it would be a great frick YOU to ULL fans. But he's older than I'd be looking for at this point. You are right though, great guy and really good coach.

or Coastal Carolina's coach.

He's a CCU graduate who's coached there 25 years. I don't think he's going anywhere

His contract is up in a few years and has said he is going to retire after that. The fans at Coastal have said that they won't be surprised if he retired after this year if they beat us and made it to Omaha. Looks like he may be done.

Mr. Hangover, I appreciate your efforts to talk sense into the large idiot portion of the LSU baseball fan base. Sadly, I'm afraid your words fall on deaf ears.

I think PM did a good job getting this year's team as far as it did. But, hey, no one wants to hear it because we're stuck in the '90s and don't realize other teams try to win at baseball these days, too.

Absolutely, so if they offer him more DO NOT INCREASE HIS PAY OR EXTEND CONTRACT.

If he wants to rebuild the Longhorns so be it. The only raise I would give him would be $100,000 if he would start coaching 3rd base in place of Cain

If true and they like the Hill country and want to move thats on them but NO MORE MONEY OR EXTENSIONS ( only a one time $500,000 bonus for a World Series Champion)as incentive to do his job to utmost capacity and ability.

I don't think he's going anywhere, but the idea of Alleva hiring another coach scares the shite out of me.

To call CPM an "under achiever " is ridiculous. First of all, he coaches in the toughest conference in the country. He won the SEC regular season championship LAST year. With a totally rebuilt starting lineup this yr, he finished 2 games out of first place, despite winning 18 conference games, a number that wins the conference most yrs. He has got LSU into Super Regionals for 5 yrs in a row: no other coach in the country has done that.In the past decade, CPM has won 1 NC. The next best record in the same time frame is by two HC who won....2 NC. And to repeat, he's done all this in the toughest conference in the country, year after year. I have no problem in his seeking a raise and in getting one. And with who he has returning, to go along with his recruiting class, no way in hell does he leave. No experienced HC mentioned here beats his resume'. And a program like LSU does not hire a "hot & up & coming young coach".

I agree.

Add to that Skip's opinion, himself. If you can trust his recent public comments (and why not?) that PM had gotten as much out of this team as could be expected, I'd think a raise is at least worth considering.
