Dec. 22. 9 days before the bowl game. 14 days before Canada left. Almost 3 weeks before Ensminger was announced.

Why is this such a big deal. All tiger fans knew Canada was out way before the bowl game. Oh! Because there was no coaching search. To me, that does not matter. As a business owner if I know who I want to hire there is not sense in have a hiring process. It’s then my decision to make.

why? I do believe the HC has a right to select his OC; it's part of his job description. hell, he selects all of his coaches.

I guess you are naïve. OR you are one of those that thinks the Rant should select the coaches.

So you're ok with him lying to you?

Or do you think Ensminger is one of the best OCs in college football?

Now we have a coach and an offensive coordinator that literally stood in front of the entire world and when asked about what kind of offense we would run said the following...

And here's what he said last year:

quote:

It's been a tremendous process of going out and being able to recruit the top, the best offensive coordinators in the country, and we got him, Matt Canada.

We are excited to have him. He's a great man. He's put up tremendous numbers at several different spots that he's been at. Everyone I called, people that work for him, he's a great team guy. Win first.

The players love him. He's great on game day, a great caller, multiple shifts, multiple formations, makes it tough on defensive coordinators that are called across the league that played against them, one of the toughest guys to go against, very creative mind, can make adjustments during the game, and is very hard to go against.

You know, one of the things I really liked in our interview is that I felt that he fit in with our staff. One team, one heartbeat. And he's about team, he's about winning. He didn't talk to him about the lofty numbers that he put up, the things that he did, the great things that he did as a coordinator, but I know this: He's had success in several different systems.

He's done a great job of coaching quarterbacks, whether it be in a spread offense, whether it be a pro-style offense, whether the quarterbacks are running the ball or throwing the ball, the guy knows what he's doing.

We're very fortunate, very fortunate, to have, in my opinion, and the opinion across the country, two of the top coordinators at LSU in Matt Canada and Dave Aranda.

Hi, Derek.

Since you're actually Fat Goebbels himself, I won't both pointing out the glaring issue of our HC and AD leaking information that led the fanbase to believe there actually was a search of a genuinely good OC. Given that, and the news that there was no search past Orgeron's nose, a rational person would have his suspicions of Orgeron continuing to turn this into a sh*tshow confirmed.

But, you go ahead and Derek, Derek.

Good job Wayne of actually going and finding something. Most on here just say hateful things but cannot actually have a convo about it.

I know what O said about Canada and I agree with everything about Canada. I liked his offense. I liked Canada. But unfortunately he and O did not get along. O is the boss. I am a business owner and if someone that I employ does not get along with me they are gone. Regaurdless of how good they are. In Os case it came to how Canada his job and how he called plays. O didn’t like it so he gone.

Now moving forward. I’m really excited about the possibility of having either Brennan or Narcaisse in a RPO offense which is the type of offense that I think I have wanted at LSU over Anything.

In your world, FG, does O get dinged at all for?:

1. "Finding the best OC" in the country whose offense apparently O didn't research enough to understand?
2. Hiring him and meddling? He meddled in at least 2 very significant ways, btw. First was by neutering August drills to short, light practices. Result was our WRs and other key offensive personnel were quoted as saying mid-Sept they still didn't know much of the offense. Second, of course, is by ripping out part of Canada's philosophy on offense, motion, and playcalling.

I suppose in your world O gets zero blame and Canada gets all of it. I give it about 80% O and 20% Canada, if that.

I'm convinced at first Orgeron was talking specifically about Kiffin when he made comments about the best coordinator in the country. Then, when that fell through, rather than man up and admit that he swung and missed, he perpetrated the charade and forced the Canada hire. I really wish he hadn't been such a chicken shite and just swallowed his pride and hired Ensminger last year, since that's obviously who he really wanted.

I doubt our record would have been any different and we'd have some continuity going into next year's brutal schedule. Plus, I'm worried that they're going to be inclined give this experiment two years anyway and I would rather be a year into it right now.

Well one is actually a DL coach. For Nick Saban no less. Must not be too stupid.

Heard Nick was promoting his TE coach to OC. Doesn't want to fall too far behind O's power curve. Apparently, Saban will let recruits vote on staff prospects also.

FTR, Archer was one the biggest fails in program history. Teachable moment.

Then you shouldn't find it funny that people don't view an under-qualified, underwhelming OC hire positively regardless of what Orgeron says. You should understand why people don't believe what Orgeron says when introducing a candidate.

All Orgeron has done since taking over as interim is say what he thinks the fans want to hear. But actions speak louder than words.

quote:

I am a business owner and if someone that I employ does not get along with me they are gone.

Orgeron doesn't own this business. This isn't "Uncle Ed's Bait and Tackle."

I understand what your saying clamdip and maybe we should have broken away from those “usc type” practices when installing a new offense. O probably learned from that. I just think he is a person and we all make mistakes. He is the boss of the football team though, plain and simple. He has accepted the faults and said he messed up. He said it after the Troy game and miss st game. Plain and simple he is the boss. Alleva hired him to make decision and that is what he is going to do.

I think that’s the thing, he is the boss so they are his choices, but no one likes the choices he made

Still his choices weather you like them or not. And to say everyone is a very group-think thing to say. Not everyone thinks like you and to think that way is very close minded.

That’s my point, they are his choices, I’m trying to say the reason people are disagreeing with you it because they don’t like his choices and because he is saying he will do things that he’s not actually doing

What evidence do you need? Orgeron said at the Ensminger announcement press conference that there wasn't a search. Does anyone on this board watch or listen to actual news?
