Seeing Saban's Alabama team show up at LSU's Tiger Stadium will do wonders for my mental state, even if I can only catch it on tv. No 5 conf playoff, no problem.

Not gonna lie—I’ve been trying to will myself to get as excited as any other year, but it’s just not there...almost like this season doesn’t really count.

BUT...

LSU hasn’t played yet. A week from Saturday I think it’ll finally sink in that football is back. A dominant win would also help a lot.

I'll watch, but with very little emotional engagement. This isn't a real season.

Our guys have me excited as ever for an LSU season...

Myles finally getting his shot as the starter...
Marshall, McMath, Arik and these three RBs running up and down the field..
Cox transferring in...
Stingley island...
Stevens coming back for another year...
Freshmen on the dline making a name for themselves...

This season was always going to be anticlimactic after the eternal glory of 2019. It is not an exaggeration to say that I waited my entire adult life for a result like last year. It was the apex of my experience as a sports fan and I doubt it will ever be surpassed. The pandemic has only heightened the sense of anticlimax. This season barely exists. I'll watch, of course, but the intensity and engagement are lacking. Maybe that will change once they take the field.

Well, I'll tell you this:

One thing, among many, I am looking forward to because of Covid is the LSU v. UF game. Without fans we'll be able to hear all the trash talking.

And the trash talking between us and them Gators is always prodigious, vicious, and particularly pointed (to be polite).

I’ve never been less invested in an LSU football season, or football in general.

Maybe that will change once the Tigers take the field. But this has been such a weird year, I honestly don’t really care about football right now.

I said LSU by 17 earlier this summer, but I hope it’s a shootout thriller to the end. Would be an adrenaline shot to my interest level of football this year.

Still basking in the afterglow of last year, call me in 2021.

Disappointed we won’t get to kick that longhorn arse again.

I’m happy to see players like Myles Brennan and Racey Mcmath and Todd Harris ...who have worked so hard and have been so patient ...finally get a chance to show what they can do

feels like a season of exhibition games, and not a real season. I really don't have a lot of interest, but that may change once they tee it up.

Why doesn't it feel like a real season to yall? Looks like there is a strong possibility that big 10 will play. If they start before or in mid October, I see them being playoff eligible. Pac 12 says maybe early to mid november,I think. If so ,they wouldnt qualify for playoff just not enough time to play enough games .they all suck anyway so that wont effect the season really.

All you are missing is a couple ooc games for most conferences like the sec.

TL;DR this season will feel normal once the sec and big ten start,if big ten starts in mid october . If they do,all contenders will all play 10 games and that's enough to evaluate and rank the teams 1 through 4 ,for the playoff
. They will have more fans in stands by then.
Itll feel normal once we get started

Damn my tl;dr is tl;dr
