If you want Louisiana as a state to value its own. Invest in projects. Help the local economy grow. Then you want Rousse.

If you are nostalgic for LSU president who cares more about looking good on national scale (Like Tate) then you will not want Rousse.

Rousse will be great for LSU and the state. Lots of smart money and smart people want Rousse. He will change LSU for better.

He will have to prove himself, but he will be great for us

Getting blown out Mike Elko 2 straight years is not golden age. Having your AD meddle in CFB is not golden age.

This board is acting weak and acting scared of its own shadow.

Listened a bit to his forum earlier today. He talked A LOT about the satellite campuses (particularly mentioned Eunice, Alexandria, and UNO quite a bit). On the surface that's not a bad thing and can actually be a very good thing. But my concern is that he wants to focus on these smaller schools because that's what he's more comfortable with coming from Mcneese as opposed to being involved in the day to day of the BR campus. But the reality is, until they make the decision to split the roles and have a chancellor for BR, managing the system from a "bottom up" perspective as opposed to "top down" by focusing on satellites first and the main campuse second seems like it could potentially lead to some serious issues

He's an ok guy but why would LSU, the premier institution in Louisiana, hire a president from a regional university. Nothing against McNeese but youre talking about a pick up truck compared to a Mercedes.

Explain to me why you hire someone in this type of position “who will have to prove himself “. You go hire a known , successful commodity who has a tract record of achievements. This guy’s self proclaimed claim to fame is that he tied McNeese university’s future success to hiring Will Wade so he could create excitement. I am not saying it was a dumb idea, but that’s not solving McNeese’s problem long term. His claim of 400 million plus in free marketing bc WW won a NCAA game is great, but show how it translated to intrinsic value for McNeese. I don’t care about a speculative calculation of free marketing, I care about bringing dollars to this university system. How do you accomplish this and create efficiencies that benefit the college students of this state ?

I liked him until Landry took off his mask last week and let us all know that they were all just gonna be puppets for him.

Imagine, the moron that forced the fake mike on us is pulling all of the strings for our school now.

None of these finalists are impressive.
When Landry ran Tate off, a lot of talented people took notice.
Talented coaches and ADs see the politics, too, and it is not helpful.

Way more to it than that, as there ALWAYS IS. I am acquainted with all the parties involved.

It wasn't happening while things were hunky-dory.

Curious what you mean by LSU investing in projects and helping the local economy grow. How would Rousse implement that?

Revitalized campus including dorms, labs, new library? Already in the works.
Public/Private partnerships with local and national businesses? That's been going on for years. I guess finding new partners is always a good option. Maybe they can get Venture Global to spend a chunk towards the Engineering and Chemistry programs instead of a football logo.

Little lying Landry seems like the kind of guy that hires people based moreso on their political views than on their qualifications.

Rousse was first linked to LSU in June. It is sad Rousse is now catching shite for the mess Landry has created in recent weeks. Rousse will be a rock star and is exactly what LSU needs right now.

I am sad he is leaving McNeese/Lake Charles. The impact he has made on Lake Charles in a short period of time is damn near a miracle. I'd be willing to bet 99% of the negative talk on Rousse is internet warriors with zero knowledge of Rousse.

Is there any evidence that Rousse is going to bring the McNeese AD with him to BR? Imo, this is nothing more than a fabricated rumor to hurt Rousse (all because of Landry). Rousse is a little more savvy than all you morons.

He's bringing him but as Asst AD. Won't be head AD as we first feared. Looks like Verge actually has inside tract to be named AD.
