Dan Fitzgerald is highly respected and did fine at LSU granted it was only 1 year and it's not hard to recruit to LSU. He is a man of God and a great recruiter. He would be a very good hire. Heck he has Kansas ranked.

Ostrander is a solid coach and has been mentioned but word is his wife is from Hattiesburg and they have 2 teenaged daughters who are in HS and not looking to move.

I didn’t realize he was making 1.15 million a year. Yeah, he’s not leaving for 2/ year

I wonder how the miss state people actually view the miss state job? I’d say it’s what a top 10 job at most? Not even a top 5 job in the conference in reality

I’ll make sure that gets passed along to Zac.

Pretty sure he signed a nice extension a year or two ago, but I also think he is someone who has wore out his welcome in Florida.

Good coach and very good recruiter but state could and should do better.

McDonnell

Had his chance in 2018 and recommended his best friend Lemonis who we just fired.

Backick has his dream job in an easier conference to win in.

Godwin also was approached in 2018. Word is he doesn’t have much nil money to retain players and keeps losing his best fr soph to bigger schools.

Godwin’s name has popped up for big jobs, but he always seems to fall by the wayside. State needs a better home run hire than Godwin.

Is State interested in that associate head coach feller at Tennessee (believe he’s Vitello’s pitching coach)?

Godwin is a fantastic coach. Would be a great hire for State.

You’re probably right. I mean recruiting to State will be relatively easy. But I wonder why Godwin hasn’t landed a big job. I’ve heard his name many times around coaching searches over the years.

ECU is his Alma Mater and he’s from Greenville.

Clemson is a dream job? Isn’t he from out west?

You say easier path but we’re in the NIL era now. State should have far better resources in baseball than Clemson.
