What's the word on him playing tackle? Is that gonna be where he plays permanently? I think he has a brighter future at the next level as a guard but I guess we need more help on the outside right now.

I still think next year they move him to RG and Heard becomes our starting RT. Heard is considered on the same level as Campbell and could be an immediate starter. Emery has the strength to excel in the run game and the agility to be an outstanding pulling guard. Either way, Campbell, Heard and Jones are going to be the foundation of one of the best OL LSU has had in years.

The fact that he was still playing on coverage teams is all the evidence anyone needs about how poor our special teams personnel is right now. Once the roster gets back to where it should be with young quality depth special teams coverage and return units will be light-years ahead of where they are now

They have to take him off that unit, imagine your starting RT getting hurt on punt coverage…

Polian must think lane discipline means everyone in one lane like a country road … there were at least 6 defenders in a space leads than 5 yards wide on the kickoff

Ludicrous(mike tyson voice) how much open field there was.

If people didn't already love emory jones enough.

I almost like it more that lsu has two homegrown true freshmen starting at tackle.

holding call that had nothing to do with the play

Did you actually watch the game or just listened to the old Bama boy on the TV broadcast? Because if it were not for the holding #6 (I believe it was) fills the gap that the returner hit. The hold ABSOLUTELY had something to do with the play.

My God what a great tackle in space. All alone versus fast returner.

It was away from the play. The Bama Boy even said how unnecessary it was.

There were honestly about 3 holds on that play.

Miss State didn’t get called for a single penalty the first have!

That is freaking Ludicrous!

*slightly* being the operative term. True that it would not have gone for a touchdown but it saved a solid 15-25 yard chunk of a return if the runner avoids him in the open field.

forcing MSU to instead have to earn that in at least 2 first downs is huge in the battle for field position.

Emery Jones literally saved a TD.

Nope. The punt returner had to beat two more Tigers, at least, who were downfield of that. But it was an unexpectedly great tackle by an offensive lineman.

Jone’s interviews are very impressive as well. The pros will be drooling over this kid.

Leading up to the draft and when he’s drafted in the first round this clip will be played 100x as evidence of his athleticism
