For the 1,697 days since Wade was fired that LSU MBB fans have endured disappointment and misery, and for those of us who never lost hope that the General could come back, tomorrow night marks a triumphant return.

It's great to feel excited and alive again as an LSU basketball fan. We're about to witness the glorious birth of an elite program, already striking fear in the hearts of the haters and blue bloods. We've paid our dues. Time to boot up and enjoy one hell of a ride.

It is fans such as you who brought Wade back. No way in the world the LSU administration would've hired him back if it wasn't for the fans clamoring for him.

Literally no other school in the country could’ve done it. None.

I am pumped for this year. I hope the crowds are great. Wade deserves the support after everything especially with the incredible recruiting class for next year

It will be nice to enjoy LSU basketball again. I will admit I was quite miserable in the Mc era I just stopped watching them at times. Feels good to have life back into the program.

The school formerly known as UNO isn't going to know what hit them

Let's kind of pump the brakes a bit. Will things be a hell of a lot better than the miserable last 4 seasons? Absolutely. But an "elite program"? That still remains TBD.

Honestly, that's what drive the constant bickering in basketball threads. Gross hyperbole on both signs of the discussion.

Gotta get the PMAC rocking again. Having a loud and raucous home game environment, especially with students engaged, creates such a huge competitive advantage.

They should reward him with a new arena.

It is definitely over the top. I hope he kills it, but in however many years he has been coaching, he has not made it to the sweet 16 as a head coach on the bench. It would be nice to pump the brakes and let it play out....but this fanbase, like most, just goes nuts. I guess I'm too rational, but after 15 or so years coaching without a legit sweet 16, forgive me if I need to be shown first.

That is going to take a little bit of time. Mostly because of the home opponents. There will be a good crowd tomorrow, but nowhere close to a sellout. Same for Friday vs a SWAC team and a Monday night game vs. Tech after that.

It is a shame LSU is playing Gonzaga on the same day LSU is playing Texas in football at home. Possibly with both games starting at the exact same time. The casual fans would have tuned into the basketball game if it were any other day besides the day of a big football game. I guess the potential silver lining would be that IF both the football and baksetball games start at the same time and IF LSU were to beat Gonzaga, announcing a win to ~90k captive LSU fans would be a nice boost in attention.
