I’ve seen him play too. He’ll be the backup unless Nuss absolutely collapses

I agree, although ... I remember the days of yore when I assumed Myles was the obvious starter and had never heard of JD when he showed up with his 10/10 PAC stats for ASU and was dismissive and thinking JD was being brought in as a backup too. You never know.

I'd really like to see Nuss get off in this bowl game.

The problem Swann will run into is that Nuss has already been in the system for a while. It would take a qb that is much more talented, so that it isn’t close, to be able to pass Nuss on the depth chart under the current circumstances.. Just my opinion, Nuss will be the starter.

It will all play out. Spring practice will tell us a lot. I'm a fan of Nuss because he's been loyal and I believe he has the talent to lead us. But we will see...

LOL no. If anything today was a huge relief for Nuss - had they brought in a 4.45 dual threat he’d have reason to worry but Swann is even less mobile than Nuss.

Not when he doesn’t know Denbrock’s offense and Nuss has been in it two years. Swann is a backup and that’s all.

The bigger problem is Nuss is more talented.

If Nuss can’t beat out this dude, we’re in trouble.

I saw Nuss play in HS and obviously in College his skillset is up there in terms of talent with anyone. Swann will push Nuss but it would take a significant drop off from Nuss for him to lose the spot.

If Swann helps him decide he must live in the film room like Daniels and sets a goal to be the best he can, then it could be the best thing for him.

I hope Nuss already learned that - or even better - got up & went to the VR QB development room with JD5 every day. They were roommates after all

What's wrong with Ricky being #2 QB?

Swann may well be the future. Why?
QBs don’t transfer to not play.
Coaches with a full room don’t bring in a player “just in case”.
Being a backup at Vandy and leaving with a Vanderbilt degree is a better deal than what he’s now facing. So, someone told him he’s got a shot at starting. Who could that be?

Yes, SEC experience is huge - has seen the speed of the game. Most importantly, we now know who our 4th QB on the roster is we can stop posting about every single guy that goes into the portal across the country ha ha.
