Let me ask a couple questions...

How are student tickets alotted?

How much do they cost?

Is there a demand for them that exceeds their supply?

If a system was put in place such that students had to swipe their IDs to get in and swipe them again to leave and those students with the longest game time on their IDs got priority for game tickets and could enter the stadium earlier, would that help motivate them to stay?

This seems to be the national trend. Saban even addressed this a couple of years ago. I don’t know what the answer is. People are going to show up for the marquee matchups, but the out of conference teams are going to be tough to keep people in the stands the entire game. A lot has changed over the years.

Y’all wring your hands too much about this shite. People have better things to do than sweat their asses off to watch LSU’s backups run out the clock vs GA Southern.

swipe them again to leave

Great, in theory, for encouraging students to stay later into the game. But from a fire Marshall standpoint it's probably not legal and it would take forever to leave the stadium if they did that. Especially at the end of a close game where everyone leaves at the same time.

I think having good wifi, good cell service and an exciting offense will be a big help in keeping students at the game.

Oh, that would spur them to attend and stay...

Have you seen what it takes already to get in as a student?

I agree though that someone needs to see why these kids leave like that now. Student section was 95% empty at start of 3rd. The rest of the stadium was much better than that well into the 4th. The band was just sitting over there by themselves...

The top story on ESPN this morning was the mass exodus of fans from the LSU game. In fact, they showed the crowds leaving after halftime.

Nope, wait, that was the USC-UNC game and it was before the game even began lol

This is a dumb post

I honestly don't think so.

The student section is a little over 10,000 I think...and LSU's enrollment isn't even 30,000. So the student section is 30-35% of the entire student enrollment.

Believe it or not, there are a lot of people at LSU who don't give 2 shits about going to games. Foreign students, grad students, art majors, etc. I know several people who went to LSU for 4-5 years and never went to a game. So I seriously doubt anyone who wants to go gets left out. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Season tickets for students are $84 so it isn’t a huge sacrifice. All the students that leave early don’t care too much about the team anyway, they just come to have fun.

Times have changed and continue to change.

Why are you blaming the students?

The entire stadium emptied.

Hell, I’m a Saints fan and get annoyed if I have to stand in the sun for 15 minutes waiting to get into the Superdome.

Stayed til the alma mater every SEC game and most of the cupcakes. Didn’t make me a better fan just meant that I didn’t have anything better to do when it’s 100 degrees out and LSU is up 50 on a sunbelt team.
