And don't forget that awesome 5-6 Cal team, that salty 2-9 Washington State team by 10 points, that crazy good 7-4 USC team by 2 points, and of course that crazy good team Sacramento State team.

Yeah, the Pac10 will end up with 3 bowl teams. Awesome conference

These people need only to check the unbiased computer polls, where LSU is as high as 2 in some and averages to 3rd.

Wisconsin is 12th in the computers
Stanford is 5th

doesn't matter. The computers say we are five and it won't change unless we drop 2 spots in the polls.

I honestly don't give a frick anymore.

Until an SEC team loses a championship game, the top ranked SEC team needs to be in the championship game.

they are just trying to influence the voters.

They are all jockying for a one loss to sneak in to the mnc if something happens and auburn or oregon lose.

he basically said the whole sec is crap.

So he thinks that a Stanford team that got skull drug by Oregon 52-31 and a Wisconsin team that got beat 34-24 by #12 ranked Michigan St are better football teams from a weak arse conference than a one loss LSU that has the toughest schedule in America, from the toughest conference who's only loss was by 7 points to #2 Auburn and the best player in America??

That sounds about right.

Typical fat arse media talking head who probably has never even worn a jock before. Consider the source.

that's just it. He is basically discrediting the whole sec. Hence our strength of schedule is bullshite.

which of course is bullshite.

Let me go one step further to only show how stupid this sports writer from CNNSI really is with his logic.

The following is (up to this point in the season) does not include next week's games.

LSU - Has played against 7 teams with a winning record and have 6 victories, yes this does include the win over McNeese. The Tigers have played against 6 teams that are ranked right now or were ranked when they played them and have won 5 of those 6 games.

Stanford - Has played against 5 teams that have a winning record and have 4 victories, yes this does include the win over Sacramento State. The Cardinal have played against 2 ranked teams that are ranked now or were ranked when they played them and are 1-1 in those 2 games.

Wisconsin - Has played against 4 teams that have a winning record and have 3 victories. The Badgers have played against 3 ranked teams that are currently ranked or were ranked when they played them and are 2-1 in those 3 games.

Ummmmmm............ I think this thread can end now. Are you kidding me? If you're going to compare the teams then it's not even close that LSU is the choice hands down. What a joke!!!

I don't either. Doesn't matter what the talking heads think. It will still be settled on the field. LSU can still make a BCS game with a win vs Arkansas and what Mandel thinks doesn't matter a bit.

I just emailed Stewart the info I just posted. I'm going to laugh if he picks it and tries to give a comeback to defend himself.

He won't. trust me. I've e-mailed the guy a bunch of times with rational, well-written thoughts and criticisms, but I've never gotten a response, or had one posted on his mailbag column. I don't bother anymore.

Blah, blah, LSU played like shite on D tonight. Chavis could have told Reid every play coming at him tonight and he would have missed every tackle. LSU rarely, if ever, plays a complete game. I don;t know what you are thinking when you watch this team and think it should garner great respect nationally.

You are an idiot. With the QB play this year, to be 10-1, Les Miles and his staff have done the best coaching job in the country.

I agree I don't think many coaching staffs could do what Les and his staff has done with this team. JJ played a good game tonight, but he's far from a good QB. Les has developed this team nicely as the season progressed.

Nah, Mandel doesn't waste time with facts.

1. Oregon (65) 10-0 2788 1
2. Auburn (35) 11-0 2733 2
3. Boise St. (11) 10-0 2591 4
4. TCU (3) 11-0 2583 3
5. Wisconsin 10-1 2268 5
6. LSU 10-1 2241 6
7. Ohio St. 10-1 2142 7
8. Stanford 10-1 2118 8
9. Nebraska 9-2 1971 9
10. Michigan St.

one thing's for certain: They have no business sitting ahead of more dominant one-loss teams like Stanford and Wisconsin in the polls. It's time for voters to take off their SEC blinders and reevaluate their ballots.

I totally agree with him this week. If LSU comes out and plays great next week and gets a win, move them back up over those teams. The polls should be fluid and reflect who you think would beat who on a neutral field, and with the way LSU played yesterday.

After watching Ole Miss be able to do what they do, I can't wait for OSU to have a chance in the sugar. Will that hold true next week if you shut up Arky? No, but this is this week

Uh . . . OK.

Just curious,
In that case, how would Ohio State fair vs Bama on a neutral field? How about Michigan State vs Bama?

Mandel, who is one of the smarter guys, predicted early in the season that the "wheels will come off" for LSU. He was wrong, dead wrong, but is still weekly predicting that we will fall apart. This team has made him wrong. It is unfortunate to see a guy who was misjudged this team cling to his misperceptions so desperately.

I think it is shite, but this is the price we are paying for Crowton's lack of offense. Style points.

everyone said this about florida in 2006. they couldn't win with "style" points. yet ohio st and michigan rolled in their wanna be conference. florida's style points came on a route of the unquestioned best team in the land o.s.u.

Pac 10 is horrible this year. i think the s.e.c. has proven head to head against the big 10 who should get the benefit of the doubt. lsu and florida embarrassed that conference.
