I normally like Mandel, but this is an atrocious piece of dog crap he has produced today. The Northwestern alum praises how cool it is to play in Wrigley. Then says that these more deserving teams need to go above LSU. This 2 weeks after a begrudging show of respect when we beat Bama.

Let him have it.

I had words with Cory of SI tonight on twittert about it not even being debatable that Stanford is the best one-loss team.

I told him Stanford has played two teams in the top 25 (and lost to one of them) while LSU has 5 teams on its schedule in the Top 25.

He said how many teams that LSU played are left in the top 25? One?

I haven't responded cuz I'm tipsy and I doubt want to get into an e-fight.

So we won at Alabama? He doesn't even know we played that game at home. Lost credibility there. He probably didn't even watch the game.

Look at it however you like, LSU has a single loss by a single score to arguably the top team in the nation and they've played the toughest schedule of any team in the top 10. Period.

And this somehow makes up for LSU not being able to handle less talented teams much more efficiently? I give JJ props for being a difference maker in this game tonight. No one knows what Wisconsin could do versus LSU but I am certain if LSU lost the blame would be laid on Chavis not getting the call in to a DB a la Saban vs Iowa or blame it on the field negating team speed vs PSU. Not to mention the B10 player of the year Clay @ RB never played a down today. How does any person know how Stanford or WI would fare in the SEC but instead just throws shite on them because LSU played poorly tonight in trying to stop OM's offense.

I mean, shite, do they even check facts?

1. Auburn
11. Bama
13. Arky (next week)
21. Miss. St

And it's not like UNC, W.Va, Florida are scrubs. If any of those three win their game against us, they're probably in the Top 25. This shite boggles my mind.

What pisses me off the most tonight is that Manuel and McCoy want other teams over LSU and today they won a high scoring game over a "lesser" opponent the same way Auburn has won all year.

Just remember the same idiots were calling the TCU win over Utah HUGE just a couple of weeks ago.. How good did Utah turn out to be?

Agreed and a good point. If Aubie loses to Bama, I imagine the long knives come out and we get a "conference power shift" meme going with SI and ESPN

Other than AU's front 7 on D owning LSU in a head-to-head matchup of supposed superior teams with LSU reportedly having a much stouter D. We saw how that ended. I hope LSU ends up 13-1 as much as the next LSU supporter, but it is entirely unknown how some of the other 0 or 1 loss teams would fare in a direct match up with LSU or other SEC stalwart. I don't care what the media angle is, I just recognize deficiencies in this team that some opponents can exploit.

No he obviously didn't watch the game. He's looking at box scores and drawing judgment.

He also has NO idea that:

1. OLE MISS vs. LSU is a rivalry game and are typically close.
2. Nutt has a history of beating LSU with "lesser" teams.
3. Ole Miss had a GREAT game plan, gambled perfectly all day, and still lost.
4. He needs to reference games like USC vs. Fresno St. in 05 where USC won 50-42 to understand that games like that happen!

Douche bag media like this have a long history of jacking off over big offensive showings and having a horribly 1-dimensional perspective.

I would love to hear his explanation as to why Oregon St. got beaten by lowly Washington St. last week then turns around and routes USC this week?

It's football and games are decided on the field.

Hey, Stewie:

In the polls that matter, the Coaches and Harris polls, LSU is behind Wisconsin already. They are only ahead of both Wisconsin and Stanford in the AP poll, which is irrelevant in today's college football. So all of you AP voters can rank LSU 25th for all I care. You don't count anyway.

LSU still has a very tough game on the road at Arkansas next week. If LSU wins that game on the road by a single point, then feel free to rank Wisconsin and Stanford ahead of an LSU team with wins over UNC, WVU, MSU, Florida, Bama, and Arkansas with its only loss being on the road to Auburn by 7 points.

At the end of the season, LSU would have played 6 teams that were ranked when they played them and beat 5. Meanwhile, "dominating" Stanford will have played two ranked teams and one of those was a blowout loss to Oregon. Wisconsin has looked dominant as of late with wins over teams that couldn't spell defense. Wisconsin has played 3 ranked teams and lost to one of them. The same can be said about Ohio State. Only one team on Ohio State's schedule will be ranked at the end of the season, and they lost to that team -- DOMINATING!

I think it's entirely reasonable to expect that our defense would hold Stanford and Wisconsin in check (not necessarily shut them down). I also think Oregon would abuse our defense. All of this is based on what type of offense those teams run, and what type of offenses we're good at stopping.

It would also greatly depend on what LSU offense showed up and if JJ played well or substandard, plus what Crowton would call in short yardage situations---he played to OM's defensive strengths many times tonight.

The lack of respect doesn't really matter at this point. LSU is unlikely to compete for the NCG, but can wrap up a BCS bid by winning at Arkansas. Will not matter what respect LSU gets at that point.

This...

Stewart Mandel regularly sucks pryor's cock. What really scares the hell out of him is the thought that pryor will one day become cam newton's bitch.

He's nothing more than a biased yankee commentator (like the majority of the media east/west coast bias) who just happens to have a platform for his retoric. Its obvious he is pleading for voters to see the field through his colored glasses to sway them toward his teams (pack 10 and big 10).

All we need to do is finish the season with a win against ar-kansas and then beat down OSU again

LSU's problem, though they have been winning is consistency. Well, the offense was consistently bad for the first part of the year, but when the offense stepped up, the defense has fallen flat. UNC, Auburn and Today vs Ole Miss.

For whatever reason lsu never gets respect,,,,2003 we were supposed to have been blown out by oklahoma,,,then 2005 miami was supposed to beat the brakes off lsu, 2006 notre dame was supposed to put us to shame, 2007 ohio state was supposed put a number on us, 2008 georgia tech was supposed to run us off the field. This is nothing new. LSU needs to just keep winning,,,2 bcs championships in a decade is our testament to excellence.

So he thinks that a Stanford team that got skull drug by Oregon 52-31 and a Wisconsin team that got beat 34-24 by #12 ranked Michigan St are better football teams from a weak arse conference than a one loss LSU that has the toughest schedule in America, from the toughest conference who's only loss was by 7 points to #2 Auburn and the best player in America??

That sounds about right.

Typical fat arse media talking head who probably has never even worn a jock before. Consider the source.
