Well I should have qualified my opinion for the obvious type questions of people who just want to be difficult.

Every team who has 1 loss from a BCS conference should be looked at and evaluated on who you think is the best team with 1 loss. Same goes with 2 loss teams, hence why Bama is the highest ranked 2 loss team.

When you look at it this way, when Wisky played a 4 win team last week in Indiana, they put up 83 points and won by 70. When OSU played Indiana and Purude, they were up by 40 points at the half and took their foot off the gas.

Compare that to yesterday with LSU, and they struggled to beat a 4 win team. And don't give me the every week in the SEC thing....you guys played McNeese state last week so no excuse to not be rested and focused for the game

He's probably relying on all those recent national championships Stanford and Wisconsin have rung up.

You guys in this thread are telling me you would put $1000 straight up on the tigers to beat the Badgers or the Cardinal on a neutral field?

These guys are allowed to have their opinions

This guy is so smart, that he has us winning at Florida and Alabama. Bama was a home game.

Sportswriters (and the rest of nonSEC college football fans) are getting weary of the SEC's dominance. They would like to see someone other than Bama, Florida, or LSU win the Big Game. Hence, the piling on onto the SEC. A one-loss LSU somehow getting into the BCSCG would be their worst nightmare.

And the Scam Newton affair only confirms their dislike/distrust of the SEC.

Florida should never have played in that game. OSU simply outclassed them. We should have insisted on the UofM-OSU rematch that everyone wanted.

guy is a nut job. every team in the SEC West is ranked except for Ole Miss...which lost to a motivated Bama team by a whopping 13 pts at home after Bama got embarassed by S Car.

I wonder what his opinion of Bama was when they were a 1 loss team after beating Ole Miss by 13. Probably like the rest of em saying they would still play for the SEC and NC

Buckeye, The Tigers beat ULM last week not Mcneese. The score in that game could have been named by LSU. 83 points could have happened. By the way, ULM beat North Texas yesterday and will be bowl eligible with a win over the Ragin Cajuns next week.

I love the fact that when we win it drives the national cry-babies crazy!!
I want to draw one of the top 4 unbeaten so bad in a bowl game. Bring on TCU or Boise State and we'll make the national media cry even harder!!

I didn't mean any disrespect to ULM in any way in my post (sorry if it came off that way). I'm just saying that the rough tough SEC schedule shouldn't carry as much weight when Tenn UGA and UF are all down, and Miss. St is only good at home.

Its not just Mandel, seems all the sports media have "SEC Penis Envy." Surely, they think, these southern states where everyone lives in a single-wide and every citizen is the product of an inner-family marriage, cannot produce talent to complete with our cherished rust-belt reps Ohio State and Michigan....or the whores of Hollywood, USC (whores = you pay them to perform. USC players = you pay them to perform).

Sorry for the long rant...I just remember steaming in 2007 when the ESPN Game Day guys said we were dog s--t compared to OSU.

What is wrong with his assessment? LSU has not been dominate. Yes, we have won some good games against tough opponents but we need to look at this objectively. For instance, we struggled against a team that lost to J'ville St. We beat UT after a penalty that gave us an untimed down. We needed a trick play and completed a fade route with about 6 seconds to beat UF. The same UF that looks like a shell of their former teams. Also look at what UNC and W.V. have done on the season.

The fact is we have had some improvement from last season but this team is not playing like a Top 5 team. We have benefitted from usually strong teams having down tears. The schedule looks good based off of name recognition but we haven't beat many teams that are improved from last year. AU drug us up and down the field. Bama and Miss. St. looks like our best wins.

Unless you only follow LSU, you gotta admit that there are a few teams that are ranked behind us that had more impressive games yesterday. Every team has close wins but when ALL of your games are close, voters lose some confidence. Margin of victory is not suppose to count but it still has a HUGE impact in the minds of human voters.

Mandel went to North Western for college and in his bio he said he went to the rose bowl to cheer on his team . he is clearly biased toward the big ten.

Classic.

I have actually been a fan of Mandel, but I think he's veered off into this Lost podcast/write about courting a woman/let Andy Stapes do the work world and doesn't give his discipline the time it deserves.

And it's a good point about putting Wisconsin above LSU. Did he even bother to check that sentence? If we are supposed to remain in awe of the mainstream media, could they bother checking facts before they post?

Could he even be bothered to watch the game? The guy heaped praise on Masoli and his abilities in the past (although he called Nutt a "dirty" coach for taking Masoli). Did he see how well Masoli and Ole Miss played? That was easily their best game of the year and they looked a hell of a lot better than their record would indicate.

One last thing. Mandel has a personal website where we can actually leave comments. LINK I'm not saying we should (nor that he'd care, he hasn't posted anything new since 2009 apparently), but b/c he's likely to filter anything and everything we write to him...

They say shite like this about the SEC every year, And then in the BCS championship games, the SEC team usually whips all their asses. He needs to take off his blinders. Dumbass!

I remember a totally different attitude with Buckeye fans before the NCG in 2007. Most felt OSU would lose, and LSU was a TD favorite around gametime if i recall correctly. Add into that the game was less than 200 miles away for 85% of tiger fans and you have the makings of bad luck

I personally don't think the SEC is as good this year as other years, but the problem is we won't know how good any conference is until bowl games, which makes it too late to put the right teams in the right places.

EVERYONE RELAX!!! Take a deep breath and look at his last name. His articles are as comical as Howie Mandel. The man has got to be a Big Ten Grad. Ole Miss can play in the Big Ten and have a winning record every year. Okay, lets a start a facebook page, " The 2020 SEC vs Big Ten (or whatever they are going to be called)Challenge to settle the score.

Two things.

First off, every team can have an off night, and that should not discount the rest of the games where the LSU D was lights out.

Secondly, Stewart grew up in BIG 10 Country, so it's not as if he doesn't have a horse in the race here, because he does.
