So we move a wr to corner but not the guy that played safety and corner in high school and was a 5 star DB.

I mean he has to be a better corner than netherly

He's 220 lbs.

this isnt a Patrick Peterson type athlete. It's beginning to look like he isn't quite the player we thought he could be.

Clifton Garrett is playing where exactly?

everyone keeps saying this kid should be playing because of his star rating but star ratings do not mean shite. There is never any other reason that fans give on why he should be playing.

Secondly O ISNT MOVING THIS KID. Stevens has been able to choose his position from the beginning. HE CHOOSES WHAT POSITION HE PLAYS.

Link?

Even if so, perhaps it’s time for our HC to be a fricking HC and say look 5 star safety kid, we need you at DB. Now get the frick over there.

Always some deflecting narrative for this fricking Kangaroo Coaching staff with some of you I swear.

we don't need him at safety. if he was better than the players we do have, he'd be playing over them. sounds like they're trying to find a way to get him on the field. Just because he was a 5 star recruit doesn't mean he's a better player. It means he was projected to be in high school. We have plenty of safeties on the roster.

I just thought that if eh couldn't beat out Delpit, or battle or Harris, that he might have found a place on the field in certain packages as a 3rd safety, or as a LB /S hybrid positon, or rover safety. I guess they didn't feel he was so great a player to change the whole defense and create a position or package just to get him on the field.

Maybe he feels more comfortable playing WR and that is where he wants to take his shot. Personally I wanted him on defense but what do I know.

Agreed. I don't get the outcry over stuff like this in the spring. How many times have we seen experiments happen in the spring? I just don't put too much stock in anything that happens this time of the year.

I agree with you. I understand Jacoby wants to do what he can to help the team but O is screwing this kid over. O needs to ask this kid what position he wants to play and stick him there. If he’s good enough to play that’s fine. If he’s not then let him fight to better himself. If his choice is DB then let him play there. It’s not Jacoby’s fault O can’t recruit a receiver that he considers good enough to put on the field so Jacoby can stay on defense

Maybe that's exactly what O did at the beginning of spring practice.

How do we know he's not gonna see time on both sides of the ball? If I recall correctly, coaches and fans both said that was possible.

This kid is never going to do anything at LSU because O won't quit fricking with him.

this would be bad

It’s been clear from the beginning that Stevens has free choice of which position he plays.

this would be laughably pathetic if this is allowed.

You really don’t have much time at all during the season to teach and implement new things, spring and summer practices are absolutely important.

I get that. I'm just saying that spring is the time to tinker.

Just when I thought ther was a slimmer of hope for this board, here we go heat once again.

Who is this kid going to beat out at S to get on the field. Not all safeties can play the CB spot.

If he thinks he can see the field at WR & was granted his wish, I hope he can make it, but the competition there is tough.

Do we lack depth at some spots? Yes. Is any of them in his talent profile? Yes. Problem is the level of competition at those spots is beyond him. Not a rare position at D1 anywhere.

Thranfwr candidate & I will wish him well.
