It's amazing the cockroaches that come out of the woodwork in games like this. LSU lost @ now #5 TAMU and now v. #1 OU and because we didn't win you have an opinion.

Maybe for tRant it's better to have the perspective of a child.

Unfortunately this is the only season we see Bug Ben. Needs to stay 1 more and legit shot at #1.

Wait. That's what you consider good coaching? Keeping one of the best players in the country on the floor is a top notch decision? Why the heck wouldn't he keep him on the floor? Do some of you people think before you post?

Are you so pissed off that you can't read comments with a little obvious context? And you pulled a snippet out of a broader comment to misrepresent playing Simmons with only one short rest as the only example of his good lineup calls.

Go calm down and quit misrepresenting posts to fit your dumbass opinion.

Nope I've expressed my displeasure with JJ all season. Even came in to eat crow after the Kentucky win. I don't think he's a good coach and we could do better.

Quit being obtuse. You meant better but don't want to say it.
No I didn't. Developed is the correct word.

The difference in experience is immense. That's why you see NCAAT Tourney teams go on runs with JR/SR laden teams. The Calipari UK's are an anomaly of multiple 5* in a class. And he's only won one title.

Nope. It was a straight forward post from you. Keeping Simmons on the floor, rather than on the bench, is a good coaching decision. Maybe you should work on your posting style instead of claiming you're being taken out of context.

He almost beat a lot of teams this year.

But he lost.

He almost won a game in the dance last year.

But he lost.

He almost got us in the dance before that.

But he lost.

We're now dangerously close to going through the O'Bryant, Martin, Mickey and Simmons eras with nothing to show for it.

But almost.

No it wasn't, which is why you didn't even quote the whole thing. You're so pissed off you can't read comments that don't echo your anger in an honest way. Go frick yourself f@ggot.

Simmons is so talented, but he seems so passive at times; no killer instinct

Yep, I resorted to ad hominem because you're a condescending douche. All because you're upset about LSU losing a basketball game by 2 points to the number one team in the country. But tell yourself whatever you'd like to make yourself feel better about who's acting like the "teenager."

Except the best record in first four seasons at LSU for a basketball coach.

No bid, NIT, NCAAT, ?

LSU hasn't had back to back NCAAT appearances since 2005. Prior to that was 1993.

Let's not pretend LSU is some juggernaut in basketball. And I'm not a CJJ apologist, just a realist. 9-9, 9-9, 11-7, 6-2 in SEC.

We lost against the #1 team in the nation today. By 2 points. The season isn't over. If anything, this loss shows we can play with anyone.

first four seasons at LSU for a basketball coach.

Nothing to brag on. At all.

We've won in the past. 10 straight tourney appearances before. Final 4's. Elite 8's. Sweet 16's. We can be a hoops school if we want to. We just don't want to bad enough.

Jones isn't horrible but he's not the answer. There were basketball posters on here pre-season that said it was Sweet 16 or bust for JJ this season- no more excuses. Well, I'm sorry but I'm reading alot of excuses from some guys on here now. A lot of crawfishing.

We're hanging on by a thread from being one of the only schools to have the first draft pick and not make the tourney. That'd be horribly embarrassing. Or maybe he won't be the first pick. In some ways that's even more embarrassing.

I just don't see us getting over the hump with JJ. It'll always be close but no cigar.

It's up to the coach to get him involved and design the offense to get it to him. JJ is not a good coach. It's obvious to us and now the nation knows it with how he's wasting the #1 player in the country. He's being exposed under the spotlight.

Simmons passed up shot at the foul line or even closer all night. He made one nice little jumper and then refused to shoot another one all night. That is not on the coach. That is on Simmons. We even fed it to him in the lane and he passed back out. Simmons with the ball in the lane is going to be a bucket or a foul 80 to 90% of the time but he has to try to score.
