Beth and Howard Dobson are going to make a lot of us eat a shite ton of crow (Dobson should still be fired ) or happily give a lot of us the middle finger

Sorry but a win away from the WCWS seems just a tad better than MEDIOCRE, No?

When all you do is get to regionals or super regionals, that too can become mediocre. There comes a point, win or go home. Tony Dungy was winning, but they fired him and then won a Super Bowl.

What does the Cardinal pitcher high five everyone on the infield after each strike out. This is ridiculous. Could you imagine if Paul Skeenes would have done that.

Yeah I think hen we played Minnesota a few yrs ago there pitcher had pitched like 26 of the games. These girls with the under hand motion is ALOT less wear and tear than the guys.

well, being under woody we have won nattys in football, baseball and womens basketball...i would think he would want and demand that in softball as well.

torina is a great pitching coach. she is a good head coach. torina wins but so did les miles. i knew miles would never win shite again after 1-9 and knew he was not the answer years before that but we gave him benefit of the doubt until that egg he laid on 1-9.

its frustrating but i think scott is in no mans land. i'd love to hear what he wants out the softball program. we had better strap in because this OU juggernaut under gasso is joining the sec plus Texas. Yikes.

That could make scott's decision easier by 2026 when her contract runs out.

With the pending 20 million payment to players not sure SW would want to pay a near 1 mil buyout, she has earned the right to stay after this year. They lost Coffey and still made a super regional and very well may make the WS… I have been critical however must give credit where credit is earned. In the future if a change is ever made Gajewski would be my guy, he has some issues but winning at the highest level isn’t one of them. The dude just wins and at the end of the day that’s what coaches at this level are hired to do.

Gajewski would be a very good hire but with what he’s done at Okl. St. recently, this would be a lateral move. And does he really want to come to the SEC and play second fiddle to Okl again? Now right down the road in Hammond there’s someone you could probably get at a bargain and is also a winner everywhere he’s been. Rick Fremin, with players of SEC caliber could be a dangerous dude. Not that I think we’re firing Torina, we should, but we wont. Maybe she sees the writing on the wall for next years team and retires to be the full time coach of the Mud Bugs.

IMO, this would be the correct choice. Just don't renew Beth's contract.

Keep Bryce Neal if at all possible, but let Dobson and the rest of her assistants go.

I'll say this until I turn blue in the face... I don't want Kenny Gajewski anywhere near our program unless he's in the opposition dugout. The dude is bat shite crazy...

I can't say until the season is over, but there are some real good reasons why his #1 pitcher the past few seasons is now the #1 pitcher at OU. I'm sure that Karli Petty has a few thoughts as well.

And yet he still in the WS for the 5th yr in a row so I think you made my point for me. Despite losing a ton of players and his alleged number 1 (kilfoyil better) he still in the WS

Amazing we can get 16 hits in 5 innings and yesterday only 2 in 7 innings. I sometimes think they are looking for walks instead of hits. Let a lot of good strikes just go by. But not being critical, just hoping they swing the bats tonight. It would be a feather in LSU's cap if the SB team could go to the WS.

It won’t be a lateral move because of money, LSU will allocate far more money to softball for paying players than Ok State, so who wins on the recruiting trail? SEC top teams who have money i.e. LSU, Bama, OU, Texas, Texas A&M to a lesser extent Tennessee and Florida. The gap will widen between the top very soon

It did seem their offensive game plan changed from the first game to yesterday's game. Completely agree it looked like they were taking a lot good strikes to whereas in game 1, they were attacking early and often in the counts. Let's hope they can win it tonight and advance to the WCWS.

It’s not just about the buyout. He’s not going to go out and pay $1M+ per year to the coach of a non-revenue sport like softball for the same reason. That’s what it would take to reel in a more accomplished coach. Not that it was ever financially viable to do so, but it’s even less so now.

Everyone wanted/wants Deifel, but she’s yet to make the WCWS and didn’t even make it out of regionals. A lot of people have mentioned Kenny G, but he turned down A&M who made Ford the highest paid coach in the SEC. There just aren’t a lot of options out there and even fewer that are realistic financially. The only argument that really makes sense to me is that Torina is paid too much and LSU should take a step back and take a chance on an up-and-comer.

I’m not the biggest softball follower, but why are we trying to fire a coach that’s one win away from the World Series? I get they laid an egg yesterday, but still. Can we not at least give it a day and a negative outcome before y’all go full force talking about replacing the coach?

That’s fine as long as people are willing to accept that the program is more likely to get worse than to get better. People are complaining about 5 straight years missing the WCWS when they had missed 7 straight years before Torina took over and only had 2 appearances in program history. Louisiana is not a hotbed for talent and there is no history of greatness to fall back on.
