I really want to know from the ones who said how much they improved over the last part of the year, do they still believe that? Or do they now realize it was a benefit of the scheduling. I’ll say it again, anytime we play any team with a pulse we can’t compete. And please don’t say….Well we played OU good and Auburn did good in the SEC tourney and, and, and. We are a mediocre team with a mediocre coach who couldn’t win the big one when she had the studs pitching and hitting in 15/16. What a waste. Defend Beth at their own risk, their ignorance will shine through once again.
If yall don’t know, Beth is very superstitious and because they won last Friday with the Teal….
Some people do not know fecesiosness when they see it.
Or do they? I mean he has set the bar…
That would be a discussion to be had, but in your hypothetical, how many SEC titles? How many playoff wins? Everything I gave you was actuality and not hypothetical.
I mean what if Deifel and Baldwin and Weekly and Gajewski all make the WCWS this year and Beth doesn’t? Are they now better than Beth in your mind?
What if Ford makes the next three WCWS? Is she better than Beth in your mind?
We can go on and on like this….Lets just deal in the current facts because that’s the only certainty.
And the fact is that as of this moment, she has done nothing of note in the last 8 years and has no reason to be retained. That being said, If and that’s a huge if, they beat Bama this weekend then a discussion can be had about extending because she will have improved and I won’t have a problem with it. But shes gotta perform better than she’s been performing. If not, I have no problem with her being shown the door. And anyone who doesn’t expect at least that should be ashamed for accepting mediocrity and not demanding more.
I just argued that Deifel may not be the best example for you, no nattys, 2 SEC titles, keeper. Weekley, SEC coach of the year 4 times, 3 SEC titles 3 Tournament tiltles, keeper. Tarr, natty, 8WCWS, keeper. Gajewski, 5WCWS in 9 seasons, big 12 title over Ok, baggage…on the fence. Ford, way to early Baldwin, same, Lombardi, way to early but another regional like this….fired.
Good ole Beth, no WCWS since 2017, no SEC titles of any kind but hey, she does have 2 Sunbelt titles. I guess we can hang our hat on that.
Let’s celebrate Mediocrity at its finest and while we’re at it, let’s push our kids to get C’s in school.
You obviously care less about any titles!!
You sure Deifel is the best example? Where were the programs when each took over? Which was more relevant? I know she hasn’t made the WCWS but damn man, she’s got 2 SEC overall titles and a tournament title. Tournament title may be outdated but if you think the overall title isn’t relevant……
If we’re comparing, Mike White has only been at Texas for a few years. What has he done?
Once every 8 or 9 years would be great.
Expectation should be every 4-5 years. What about you?
What other title has she won? Did I miss one? What’s their record Against SR teams? That should be a good indicator.
It depends on who you listen to. If you listen to the ones who say we’ve improved in the later part of the season because we beat the SEC bottom dwellers, then maybe we have a shot but in reality when we play someone with a pulse we revert to the same old, same old . Pitching falls apart, cant hit etc, etc.
I thought the regional would give me more hope but watching how the ACC performed, that hope was dashed some.
Here’s to hoping I’m wrong
Make no mistake I want any LSU program to win. The problem here is Beth had a good amount of success when she first got here but that doesn’t give you the freedom of being questioned or assessment of your current success. If she makes the WCWS, we can evaluate on the success of this year.
But, she has still never won anything.
I am very angry a Jay Johnson for this year but am in no way calling for him to be replaced. He has won 2 national titles which affords the luxury of continuing to be the BB coach and if he wins one every other/3 years, i and most reasonable fans will be ok with that. Don’t make the CWS for 8 years, get bounced from your regional by an inferior in state program, the discussion will be different.
Congrats to the girls and I hope they beat Bama and even though I feel Beth has run her course, I will never wish us to lose. And just because people question the path that our teams are on does not mean that they’re loyalty to the P&G should be questioned.

Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!
Yes that team that finished 14th out of 15 teams, that won’t make it to a regional but hey, they did beat A&M. I’ll put that in the moral victory column. I guess anything really can be sugarcoated and look yummy through purple glasses.
They must not have posted the series we beat Georgia.
You are talking about the same Auburn whose season is over because they won’t make a regional? That bottom feeder.
Why would we have to pay more for a better coach? I’m sure Gasso, Walton, Murphy, Perez all didn’t commanded enormous salaries when they were hired at their respective schools. I’d be willing to bet we could get better for cheaper just maybe not proven. Really, what had Beth proved before we hired her? She could win at a mid? There’s plenty out there like that. Some of yall should up your expectations for all sports.
Wait, since we’re in a better position overall than OU sports, we shouldn’t strive to be better? Now you’re satisfied? I’m so confused

The Oklahoma Sooners softball program achieved a major financial milestone in FY2024, reporting $4.1 million in revenue, driven by a 37% surge related to the opening of Love's Field. Ticket sales alone exceeded $2.6 million, surpassing combined revenue for men’s and women’s basketball at the university.

Amazing what making an investment in a championship program earns.
quote:

LSU women's basketball, despite high attendance and popularity under coach Kim Mulkey, reported a loss of $7.9 million during the 2024-25 season, with expenditures reaching approximately $12.09 million. While in-game revenue is lower compared to major television-driven sports, the team saw significant growth in contributions and ticket sales recently.

Women’s basketball. Not sure what this year was.
How much revenue does women’s basketball produce? We had no problem going after the big fish there…..if it’s all about revenue. And the ROI is only correct if that is what the expectation of the job is. If the product that is being put out is what is expected, then maybe we need newer than the new AD that we have. And don’t say that the new AD is killing it because the new hires haven’t accomplished anything yet….Im very hopeful that they do though.
Oh, I get it now. When we interview a softball, swimming, track and field, golf, tennis, tiddly winks coach, the conversation is, just do what you can because the athletic dept. only cares about winning championships in football, baseball and basketball if we can. Man, what a pressure relief that is. Hell, we can hire the custodian for that.
