Again, this is what I was taught to do by my Dad. I always thought it was sportsmanship and has its place in baseball.

You don't have to boo the guy or anything, hell give him a courtesy clap if you want, but a standing ovation? If that deserves a standing O than it kind of cheapens the power of a standing O don't you think?

I certainly will. I don't do it because I want to pat myself on the back and say how great a fan I am. I do it because that is what I learned from my Dad and I believe it to be good sportsmanship.

Yes. Who counts rings won not as a head coach? He had a brain cramp and thought Skip won all of our CWS titles. Then he tried to cover it up with a head fake for Skip's time as an asst at Miami. I guess that means Smoke Laval has 4 rings, right?

Ditto.

Lester rarely actually attends any LSU games in any sport, fwiw.

Whether he deserved it or not, I would have been too pissed to give him a standing ovation. And I don't think he really deserved it. We left a lot of guys on base by our own doing.

I don't want to get into the "value of a standing O". It was my understanding that there would be no math.

As soon as I finish this beer, I am headed back out to the Box to scout the opposition. Here's to extra innings.

He gave up 4 runs actually and 9 hits, not exactly dominating
He wasn't dominating and the 4th run was on him, but he had the lead when he exited. He also held LSU to 2 of 11 with RISP (getting out of jams). Without him, LSU would have won by double digits. I get a good game clap, the standing ovation is silly.

What?

He said Skip has 6 rings. And Skip has 6 rings. One from Miami as an asst. coach, 5 from LSU as head coach. He was correct.

You were so quick to jump his shite you didn't think it through. He was right. You were wrong. You owe him an apology IMO.

he could have 3 rings, i dont care. My point still stands.

Of course he is going to say he love its.

The players prob will say the same thing too. What are they supposed to say? You really think a guy like Alex Bregman thinks its cool? You think ANY of our players want to give an inch to the other team?

they can shake hands when the game is over.

Win or lose, he definately deserved it. This guy pitched his arse off and showed he's a minor/major league pitcher......I'm a die hard LSU fan, but respect talent

Bregman is a competitor, I doubt he has much of a problem with it.
