Mulkey was a legend in this state long before she became LSU head coach and before she was “Kramer’s mom”. If she can bring LA Tech a national championship, she will bring LSU a national championship. That’s where the excitement stems from.

I didn't take this as a racist comment. For one, we had Pokey Chapman who was a very successful coach at LSU and like Staley a black woman. Now Staley and Nikki may have had a very friendly relationship where as she and Mulkey haven't. And that happens against competitors especially those that give you trouble. I'm saying all of this to say that LSU gave Nikki 10 years. More than enough time to get this program back to prominence. She just didn't do it. And that's on her and no one else. Kim was able to get more out of players that aren't hers than Nikki did. Their play speaks volumes. What Staley is upset about is that now the coach she had to see on occasion is now in her conference and has to face her every season. Kim is a threat to her and she knows it. She won't tell you but tonight scared the shite out of her. LSU is no longer her doormat and easy win anymore. And if you do win, you gotta earn it.
