re: Jubans - Seersucker
Does anyone know if there was something going on beyond COVID with them? It just seems so strange how there was no attempt to even reopen Juban's once restaurants were allowed to reopen for indoor seating....

Local VoIP business provider in BR - Seersucker
I'm needing to install a phone system in my new office building/warehouse. It seems that a cloud-based system is the way to go. Anyone have experience with a local company in Baton Rouge that provides this service? We would be pairing this with Cox internet. I'd rather not use Cox for the phon...

re: Portobella's Gift Card - Seersucker
Even with the influence of the Ruffinos chef, Portobello’s is still overpriced crap.
I just moved about 5 min away from this location, and have found it to be pretty good. The GM has been very involved each time I've been...checking on customers, interacting with the the servers ...

re: Looking for a good Dinner in Baton Rouge. - Seersucker
Nino's, if you can get in there. They're usually booked up. My wife and I had a great meal at Portobello's in Bocage the other night. They completely renovated the inside during the COVID shutdown. The old chef from Ruffino's is over there now. Louisiana Lagniappe is always fantastic....

re: Maytag Washer won't drain - Seersucker
if you're going to spend close to a grand for a washer, get a Speed Queen.
100% this. I had a GE that lasted 2 years...I had it repaired...it went out again a year later. Bought a Speed Queen and haven't looked back. Those things are tanks....

Best Modem / Router Combo??? - Seersucker
Just signed up for Gigablast internet through Cox at my new house. Instead of renting their equipment, I'd rather get my own top of the line modem and router. What setup would the tech board recommend? It's a 3,000 sf house. TIA...

How much is a social membership at Baton Rouge Country Club? - Seersucker
I'm moving to that side of town in a few weeks, and I'm just curious. Not a huge golfer, but it would be nice to have a place with a pool for the kids to hang out during the summer. I'd also like to meet some new people. Am I looking at a huge stock buy-in? TIA ...
We had found it was best to just go about 8:30. Little to no wait. Got straight in on Valentines Day once at that time.
That's true. Difficult to do that with kids though. I miss the late dinners before they came along......

re: La Lagniappe still got it - Seersucker
Best restaurant in town and I don’t think it’s close.
Agreed. No better place in town for consistently good food. They stay in their wheelhouse, and they don't try to be something they're not. Many restaurants could learn from them....

re: La Lagniappe still got it - Seersucker
LL taking reservations has been a game changer. We've been more since they re-opened during COVID than probably the last 3-4 years combined. Before COVID, if you weren't on the list by 6:30, you were waiting at least 45 min. Didn't matter which day of the week it was....

Best Storm Tracking Site?? - Seersucker
Weather Underground used to show a lot more information on the storms, but now just shows a singular tracking forecast. I'd really like to be able to see the predictions from the Euro tracking model, etc....

re: Franco's Grill - Seersucker
It might be the worst restaurant in the city. I certainly haven't been to any worse than that place in the last 15 years. There is no way they are turning a profit. I think it's a front for money laundering. Never anyone in there, and everyone I've ever talked to that's been there said it was abs...
