Something feels broken…

I’m a big JJ fan and have no desire to see him leave LSU. That said, I think he has his hands full righting this ship in the next couple years. Something seems like it’s broken at a program level, not just youth, injury and portal misses.

Finally someone get its it.

Shut the frick up. He’s won 2/3 last national championships and something is off? Are you retarded.

We’re starting like 4 or 5 true freshman and have our Friday and Saturday starters out. How drastic that is in the SEC is way understated. We’ll be fine.

He lost 2 of his starting pitchers -that does have an effect!

Yes, some major players are quite literally broken.

Yeah, it’s called a bad season. shite happens. We’ll be a top 8 seed again next year. It’s baseball.

We sucked in 2024 then won it all in 2025.
Take a breath bub, it’s 1 season

Nah, I think we are loaded for the future, but we need to add some transfer pitching.

I don't love the feeling either, but it's way too early to tell if something's broken. Jay and the staff deserve a mulligan, especially without some key pieces.

We were terrible even with these amazing "Starting Pitchers".

quote:nah. It's literally just those 3 things. Is there a team in the country, including UCLA, that would win series if you took away their 2 best starting pitchers? What about if you then removed their best hitter also?

The majority of our pitchers are freshmen or sophomores. And none of our transfers, other than Cooper Moore, have done jack shite.

Find a legit #1 friday night guy in the portal and we are back on track next season with the young core we have returning.

You think he went from winning two titles in 3 straight to a broken system? Even if that's the case, if you can break a system that quickly, with NIL, you can also fix it quickly...assuming you know which part is broken.
That said I don't believe it's his system that is broken. Not the whole thing. Maybe pieces, such as talent evaluation in the portal. Then again, that has also worked in our favor in the past.
I go back to what Jay Johnson said the season after his first title - because of the timing of the portal window and how late you play the deeper you make it into the post season, it's really hard to devote time to your current team AND proper talent evaluation and recruiting portal players. I think it's very likely that is what happened this season. We missed on some of these guys because we couldn't fully evaluate them. There's a risk/reward to the portal just like there is with high school recruiting. We hit on guys like Tommy White but missed on guys like Yorke.

jay will be on a warpath this offseason.
We’ll be fine.

Evans, sophomore
Schmidt, sophomore
Rizy, sophomore
Cooper Williams, sophomore
Lachenmayer, sophomore
Plog, sophomore
Ricken, freshman
Sheerin, sophomore
Theophilus, freshman
Paz, freshman
I don't know that we need a ton of help. Just for some of these guys to improve, which they will, and step up. I expect our pitching staff to be much better next year.
