What’s that supposed to accomplish?

Confusion to the offensive line is my guess

Assuming it’s supposed to cause confusion for the offensive line protection wise since they don’t know which way they’re coming? It didn’t seem very effective though.

I assume it’s so you don’t know gap assignments generally

did you even watch the first time they ran it? Yes it worked. It threw the quarterback off and it worked just like it needed to.

Confusion for the offense’s blocking assignments

Wish they’d have dropped one of those stacked guys into a shallow zone to take away the crossers. Though hell they may have done that and I didn’t notice. And by virtue of the alignment itself it may have taken some of that away anyway.

Just something else to put on tape for future opponents to have to spend time analyzing.

He was trying to confuse the offensive line, with an odd blitz formation/look.

Problem is the first man in the stack was like 3-4 yards away from arky o-line. It was strange, but I don’t mind trying out funky things to confuse an opposing o-line. It also caused some congestion in the middle of the field, and Arkansas had hit a couple passes over the middle.

Confuse QB but to me its like calling a reverse or flea flicker, you can only run it once or twice over a 2-3 game space.

Offenses can easily adjust to that since it requires more time to work

I thought it was frickin’ cool. And it seemed to work. There were some other novel things they did on D but I can’t remember what they were.

It will work if the front person lines up closer to the line

Not something you use all the time but certainly qualifies as a “different look.”

If it works it’s a great change up, if it fails you are an idiot for calling it.

Seriously? It's meant to keep the oline guessing which player is their assignment until the last second

It absolutely worked the first time they ran it

At this point, I’m all for whatever Baker wants to try. He’s proven himself and his adjustments are elite.

I was frustrated by that too but in the end I figured it was what LSU was willing to give up in lieu of something else like deep shots or run defense. When the game ended we held them to about 275 total yds on offense and 10 pts. Best game stats this season.
