Is Florida better than Wake? About as good as Wake? Or is it that they are damn good, well rested, and will have use of their Ace while ours (and the team) are sucking wind from such a difficult week?

I’m not saying we lose, I’m just genuinely curious if we got a shot or did we blow it all out last night? I’ll hang up and listen…

they have 2 great arms for starting pitchers and a hell of a line up with power. I thought LSU and UF were the 2 best teams all year. I only wish we were as rested as they are.

That’s my take too. Sometimes momentum help but when one team is fully rested and the other slides in with their tail dragging, it doesn’t seem like a fair and even contest. But rules are rules.

Certainly more holes for vulnerability pitching wise than what Wake had

Captain obvious but you don’t make it to the finals not being a great team.

It’s hard to look at the regular season because it’s about getting hot at the right time. They’ve had a solid May and June.

They are a better hitting team than Wake, but Wake has a better pitching staff.

We need our bullpen to maintain course and our bats to wake up a little bit more but we definitely have a shot.

Well, one thing is for damn sure, LSU isn't just going to give them the series. They're gonna have to beat us twice.

Yer not jes woofin. LSU has SCADS of momentum at this point in time.

LSU in Omaha isn't the same team as toward the end of the regular season. They have become a team possessed.

The last 3 weekends of the regular season, then the SEC conference tournament, gave nobody any indication that LSU was capable of making it to the World Series final. Pitching, esp relief pitching, faltered, play in the field was less than stellar, and clutch hitting was hard to find.

What happened?

They're really good. Our bats are going to have to win this one to help our pitchers out.

I also think that last night was the National Championship. The two best pitchers with the two teams ranked number 1 this season. What a game!!!

Every pitcher Wake threw at us had a sub 3 ERA and a great K/BB ratio.

They are not as deep in pitching and similar in hitting as Wake. Florida is near the top of SEC in most batting stats, just below LSU. They have 2 good pitching starters, and a few solid relievers. Their arms are definitely more rested. I think Wake was a tougher matchup for us because of pitching. But we are not the same team in a series without Skenes starting for us, so this is going to be a battle.

Nephew is an FU grad.

Says they have one really good player, Jac Caglione, who I just looked up and can pitch and 1B.

Said they're good but so is Wake Forest.

That being said, Geaux Tigers!!!!!

When it is all said and done, I think a look back at this season will show that Wake and Florida will have been the two top teams we have faced all year. And Florida looks like it was peaking through bracket play. LSU pitching also seems to be peaking but that is undoubtedly still the main concern for LSU.

But this team is certainly capable of beating anyone we have or will face, including Florida. If Floyd can hold it together for 5-7 innings, we can win game 1 if the bats do not go silent. If we win game 1, I feel like we win the whole thing. If we lose game one, I feel like we can still win, it just looks more dire. Because we then need another one of those unexpected pitching performances to pull the win off.

Wake has a far better and deeper pitching staff. But I do think Florida has a better offense. Getting to Florida's bullpen is to our advantage as opposed to Wake's bullpen and starters being equally dominant.

I had serious doubts about our ability to be wake once, I thought they were the guys to beat, and we did it in a rag tag method. Sometimes baseball is funny. Win or lose super proud of where we are

well he must not follow baseball, caglione is really good but they have a top 3 pick in Langford and their SS Rivera is the best in the country. Sproat and Waldrep are 1st rounders as well on their pitching staff.

Maybe he doesn't have time to follow FU as much as he'd like, or maybe he didn't have time to answer me fully with 2 grammar school aged kids and other things on his plate.

And he lives in MA now, kinda off the beaten path of NCAA baseball.
