While this is true, the Trosclair situation isn’t all about money. Someone close to them shared with me that him and his father have held a grudge on LSU since he never got an offer from them out of high school. I think that is now obviously true by how petty his family has been towards LSU on socials since his commitment. I’m good on that, we don’t want that kind of attitude anyway. Tennessee also overpaid for him badly.

This. It's wild that there are so many people that think that it's impossible for players to just want to play at another school for whatever reason. There is a select group of fans that just can't imagine why any football or baseball player would want to play somewhere else and that they are dumb for not coming to LSU. They think that the only reason someone wouldn't come to LSU is because they were offered more money somewhere else.

More importantly, they have no self awareness. Do they really think that LSU has more money to spend than everyone else?

They are like the cash poor wife who truly doesn't understand why she can't just buy whatever she wants whenever she wants.

I don’t think it’s that they think we have more money than everyone else, yet we lose battles. I think people are saying we need to put more money into the baseball program than we are with how today’s world of college sports works. It is objectively true that teams like State, Texas, and A&M are spending a good chunk more than we are on the baseball programs. I don’t disagree with anything you’re saying though, people need to realize LSU can’t land every single target.

At the time, he wasn't good enough to get an offer from LSU in this day in age. Big name teams aren't in the business of taking chances on high school kids in the hope they develop unless they are a complete stud.

Wasn't Karson Trichel and Marshall Louque both long standing LSU commits. Louque had TJ and had a good year batting and in the field but didn't pitch for LSU-E. He may end up back at LSU but who knows. Trichel goes to Nicholls and has a decent year like Trosclair and he is now in the portal too. Sawyer Pruitt was a long time Ole Miss commit but his velocity didn't project like they had hoped. Doesn't mean he is not a good pitcher. Thought he did well at ULL. Hopefully he sticks with them and continues to develop.

I completely agree, which is why I think it’s hilarious they are being this butthurt and petty over LSU not offering him out of high school when no other big name school did either. I’m fine with him going to Tennessee for how much they overpaid, him and his family seem like a good fit for that culture.

So we still getting out bid in the baseball portal…

According to Baseball America, we have the highest ranked transfer in the portal in Landon Hood (#2 overall. And we have the #26 guy in Dawson Park.

LINK

Bino Watters from Notre Dame is ranked higher but he has not yet an official transfer committed to a new school.

Tennessee has #4, and #34
Mississippi State has #16, and #19
Texas has #11
Florida has #20
Vanderbilt has #33

and not a single current LSU player who has entered the transfer portal is considered a top 50 portal prospect. Unlike South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, and Texas A&M.

Seems more like we're outdoing every SEC team at the moment.

Bono Waters going to Texas is the main one.

Wait. I was told TX didn't have time for portal stuff because they're playing in Omaha.

Jay's excuses are starting to lose their luster.

Missing out on some big prospects right now to opposing sec schools.

We are the Gold Standard for SEC Baseball but are Mid to Bottom of the SEC in $$ available. Inexcusable!

Exactly, so tired of the whining when we don’t get someone. Not every top player in the portal is coming here.

Maybe kids saw the questionable in-game adjustments that lead to multiple “up 7-2 only to lose 13-9” losses and decided to look elsewhere?

Maybe he read Tigerdroppings and saw a post by Meauxjeaux and took it all LSU fans are too stupid to commit there.
You’re fricking harping on something that is completely had ZERO to do with this. Questionable calls my arse.
Execution by pitchers that PROVED the previous playoffs they could execute is what ended up costing games. We we ask why? GO THE frick BACK TO WEEKEND ONE AND MOORE’S INJURY. Read EVERYTHING he said about it.
READ EVERYTHING FROM CURIEL, STANFIELD, EVANS. Are you that dense? What the frick happened to you? You think those players are not worth 4 fricking games considering their roles? 4 games is what was needed to be in the tournament and Johnson had to basically sacrifice the last weekend in an effort to try to win the SEC tournament.

I would rather believe a coach that has proven himself twice over than even his predecessor like retards on here.

get what many here are saying about this recruit. Im just trying to understand this.

LSU offered?
Tenner offered more than LSU did regardless of reason(s). So he commited to Tenner?

Some are saying he isnt good enough or he had TJ. Well others have gone to LSU where a chance was taken because of reasons above. Also if anyone is talking about talent evaluation and the kid not being good enough, well, we can all name several failed expectations from many past players. So I say this. Why isnt he worthy to be at LSU based on his recent success but he is going to another top shelf SEC school and commited to Tenner now? Another SEC school wanted him badly enough that they out recruited LSU and got a kid that literally lived an hr from the Box. South Louisiana loves and supports LSU. On principal alone there is no way I let Tenner beat me out for a kid that lives in my back yard. I mean seriously, is the kid not good enough? If anyone says no then what about every smaller school player that JJ brought here through the portal and was successful? We can name a few over the last 5yrs. Is it true his dad hates LSU? I doubt that.

On a side note, I know Shane personally and he is a good guy. He coached Cam Sanders at ED White who went to LSU, so i know for a fact he has had dealings with LSU before. Before anyone says shite, nobody is perfect. I knew/know him as a hs coach and as a person for many years now. For them to pass up LSU, there had to be an actual valid reason. Money alone couldn't have been the only reason unless it was a staggering difference. To allow Tenner to take a kid in your back yard is wild. Jmo.
