I completely agree, which is why I think it’s hilarious they are being this butthurt and petty over LSU not offering him out of high school when no other big name school did either. I’m fine with him going to Tennessee for how much they overpaid, him and his family seem like a good fit for that culture.
I don’t think it’s that they think we have more money than everyone else, yet we lose battles. I think people are saying we need to put more money into the baseball program than we are with how today’s world of college sports works. It is objectively true that teams like State, Texas, and A&M are spending a good chunk more than we are on the baseball programs. I don’t disagree with anything you’re saying though, people need to realize LSU can’t land every single target.
While this is true, the Trosclair situation isn’t all about money. Someone close to them shared with me that him and his father have held a grudge on LSU since he never got an offer from them out of high school. I think that is now obviously true by how petty his family has been towards LSU on socials since his commitment. I’m good on that, we don’t want that kind of attitude anyway. Tennessee also overpaid for him badly.
I’m hearing we offered Brody 750k to come to LSU. 750k is already WAY MORE than I would want to pay for a guy whose arm is pulled pork right now. And apparently Tennessee is DOUBLING that which would be 1.5 million. Do you really want to waste 1.5 million on him? No man. We don’t.
I’m not sure. I know he fits the mold of a Jay Johnson player, and like they said he went to the same high school as Curiel. When it comes to the west coast guys I see it as Jay is always going to have connections. Bad thing is are we going to be able to get him on a visit after Tennessee? Or is he going to commit there before leaving?
That’s fair. Just wanted to see if you had any info, I really like Ward from Mizzou, he’s gonna be a stud wherever he ends up.
Any chance for us to get that Hanoian kid from Air Force as a 2B? Or even Ward from Mizzou? Since they’re primary 2B I doubt they are asking for SS money, and i’ve heard Hanoian isn’t in the market to specifically play SS.
