So do I think Max can average 2.6 TDs over the rest of the season? Absofrickinglutely.

He'd better average that, because I don't see the running game becoming a scoring threat even with the emergence of Kiner and hopefully Goodwin once he's back.

The last 2 months will not be kind to our offense if we don’t have a running game. You’ll see 4 man fronts putting pressure because the OL is terrible. Max has faced some terrible defenses the past 2 weeks so let’s not get too excited until he does it vs Auburn and Florida.

Our only hope is sitting #3 and letting the freshmen RBs carry the load.

60 TD passes in a season is just unreal

This is a classic example of no running game.

In their defense that’s not what they’ve been really terrible at.

Let's see what SEC play does to that trending.

He's really good and will get better. Reminds me of Burrow in his first year at LSU.

Some of those lofty and ill-advised up for grabs throws won't turn out so well in SEC play. I write those off as 'he knew who he was playing'.

Better odds that he won’t start next year. Definitely won’t start in two. If he has a decent season it’ll more than likely be eclipsed by his successor.

But if he gets to 3500 & 35, me might win 8.

Imagine what Brennan would be putting up. It would be sick.

It just gets exhausting hearing about how the backup is better after a QB struggles once.

Most people don’t realize that a QB has to struggle in order to develop.

If we are constantly clamoring for the backup then the starter will never really develop.

A few cases where I honestly think backup should have been given a shot: Mett in 2011. With as many blowouts we had he should have gotten more opportunities and after being down and unable to do anything against Bama he should have been given a shot.

Outside of that and maybe Russell getting more than Randall I can’t really put anyone else in that list.

you just don’t like max. You’ve shite on him every chance you get. Now your saying that using a bad o line as an excuse is pathetic? He does have a bad line. But keep on doubting the kid

I was proud of him for taking some chances last night and airing it out. Looking forward to seeing him continue to develop.

Why is it other schools have freshmen QBs that can throw a deep ball accurately (Max can’t) but we have to wait 2 years for them to “continue to develop”

Frustrating.

he was definitely far more willing to put the ball up and give his receiver a chance to make a play in the CMU game versus the first two weeks. Hope to see more of that going forward.

Who are the other schools you’re talking about? Name literally one school starting a true freshman QB?

A&M- No
Arkansas- No
State- No
Ole Miss- No
Florida- No
Bama- No
Auburn- No
South Carolina - No
Kentucky - No
Georgia- No
Tennessee - No
Vandy- no
Clemson- no
Ohio State- no
Oklahoma- no

Who the frick are you talking about?

Reminder- Max leads the SEC in TD passes and he’s 5th in the country.

Now try and spin that narrative

Did you compare him to past LSU quarterbacks that ran in a completely different system? The answer is yes. So the whole fricking thread is useless unless you compare him to Joe Burrow or Myles Brennan since you didn’t mention any other quarterbacks in college football and that on that list.

You think this pace keeps up against 8 SEC defenses? Getting to 35 TDs and 3500 yards is probably a stretch.

He’s also only thrown 8 passes in the 4th quarter through 3 games. No way we can sit on small leads with our ineffective running game and nothing pads the stats like slinging it in garbage time when playing from behind.
