Just as long as they fill all the holes leaving in secondary. Going to need to get some elite DBs from transfer portal. Got some talent coming in but you can't expect young DBs to dominate on defense immediately.

Next year's D is gonna be filthy. Perkins absolutely will be in Heisman talks after a full year of playtime and a full offseason of learning and developing his body. 100+ tackles and 10+ sacks is not outside of the realm of possibility for him.

Off the top of my head they will lose:

Linebackers will be elite. Interior defensive line will be very good, maybe elite if Roy or Wingo return. DEs probably take a step back with Gaye and Ojulari leaving. Jones looks like a capable replacement for Gaye. We’ll see about Wiggins.

Safety is taking a hit. I think we will have to hit the portal again to help the secondary. Ward will be missed!

This. Hopefully we hold onto a couple of guys who have the option to return, seal the deal with our top recruits, and do well in the portal again. The positive is that the tape and results from year one should help with the last two. Any CB or Safety looking to make an instant impact move will undoubtedly be interested in what we can offer.

Wingo is a sophomore so he’ll be back. Hopefully Roy stays. Guillory and Wiggins will be back to.

I thought most of the secondary had an extra year due to covid year eligibility?

We lose a ton of production and experience on D. Where are you getting confidence from? I want to believe but tell me why I should?

Why not? HP40 has. If any of these guys coming in are ball hawks and tearing it up in practice...they should get them on the field.

Ojulari, Baskerville, and Converse will be tough losses. We can replace the rest.

i doubt Garner is leaving early.

Secondary:
will need some transfers. we got several good ones this year with a lot of unknowns with our program. Should be much easier this off-season given BK’s culture change.

Major Burns, Garner (i think he comes back) as returning starters.

Welch, and the other freshman corner Davis-Robinson are good. Sage Ryan doesn’t look like much more than a special teams player or backup, but maybe he can show something. Others Jordan Allen, Derrick Davis, Raydar Jones should be back(academics?).

There’s more dudes back next year than we started last off season with.

LB and DL, there’s a bunch of dudes. Penn, Perkins, Little, Savion Jones, Mike Jones, Gullory, Wingo, Wiggins, Tolan, Weeks, Tygee Hill, Mason Smith, and we’ll have 2-3 stud incoming Freshman no doubt.

I could see Roy leaving early. Hope not though.

How sick would it have been if smith didn’t get hurt THIS year
