I doubt that. Not this year.

Too many teams in general. Should've gone to 8, no byes.

Stupid post. There’s only about 3 teams who deserved to be in the playoff.

What game are you watching? Penn State has dominated this game.

Boise State was better on 3rd down, had more total yards, and won the time of possession.

It’s obviously still flawed. A three seed being a 12 point underdog to a six seed tells me everything I need to know.

That a 12 team playoff is just stupid because there are NEVER 12 teams in any given season that’s actually capable of winning a championship?

Because that’s what it told me.

No other team would have performed any better had you put them in over the teams that got in. Bama, South Carolina, Ole Miss… they all would have gotten their asses handed to them too.

Boise being in the playoff was acceptable, but they were ranked too high. Boise was in the game with PSU until the point of the overturned touchdown stemming from the hands to the face penalty.

Everyone bitched for years about the BCS bc a computer determined the 2 teams. Then it was changed and determined a playoff would happen. It would be 4 teams. Then people bitched who should be in. People bitched the 4th team should be this team or that. This team was left out.

They changed it to 12. Now more bitching and people saying it's too many. This team should not be in. That team should be in. It's never going to end.

College football is not perfect. There is no perfect formula or solution. This was the first year. The committee got every team in they felt the fans had been saying for years : this team "deserved" to be in. Now these are the results.

I don't have any issue with how they are ranked or the teams that got in. I think there will be adjustments to the CFP going forward and I think this was a test run.

SEC #4 Bama lost by 6 to Big #7 Michigan

SEC#6 SC lost by 4 to Big #5 Illinois.

SEC #3 Tennessee got humiliated by 25 to Big #4 OSU.

Penn St. ranked higher than Michigan, Illinois, and OSU…

Your comment does not reflect the results on the field.

Looks like the Big10 might overall be better than the SEC again this season.

I guess UGA or Texass could win it all, but neither is all that impressive to me.

The point is that the playoff field is too large. Alabama and South Carolina don't deserve it anymore than SMU or Boise do. I don't want to see any of them. Go back to four teams or better yet the BCS.

Why is the playoff field too large? What needs to happen is there no rankings until the final week of the regular season. After all the football games are played, than you have the rankings. After the conference championship games, you have the seeding.

College football will never be perfect for playoffs. I like it better than 4 teams. I think 12 teams is adequate to find a true champion.

I know some will say a team seeded #12 should not win a championship. Look at NFL. This year a team seeded 5th in NFC will have 14 wins. They don't deserve to win a SB? It has happened a team seeded 6th ( the 12th team to get in) won the SB.

Ditto. I'm afraid we are stuck with this. The computers (although nobody ever saw them) were more accurate than the unqualified clowns on the committee.

And Penn State, and Notre Dame, and the other teams that were not in the top 4.

By having a 12 team playoff, you’ll have 4-5 teams every year that have no business being there, but it is what it is at this point.

Last time I checked “most” means more than half. Most of the SEC would not beat Penn State. Penn State has a lot of talent, especially in the front 7

I'm less bothered by their inclusion than by the seeding. Just because Boise and ASU won a minor conference title isn't sufficient reason to put them in the top 4 seeds with a bye to the quarterfinals.

Just take the top eight, period. No auto bids to weak teams. No byes to weak teams. Simply the top right. The elite eight.

The problem with the playoff is the field is too large. Eight is enough. Twelve contestants allows teams into the playoff undeserving, and that's why Indiana, SMU, and Boise collapsed. In addition, there should be no bye week for any school.
