No changes? So you’re saying we’re just going to play next season without a DL coach? People gotta stop starting threads of every thought that pops in their head.

Smith leaving is the fact the he thinks too highly if himself and has since he stepped on campus. He has bad advisors.

The plus side, we don't have to do much to replace/improve his productivity.

I'm sure that we go and at least try to get someone out of the portal and/or get Reliford and McKinley ready to play. If none of those come to fruition, would we expect to see more of a 3-3-5 hybrid or a more exotic 3-4 over Baker's 4-2-5? LBs seem to be our strong point and we have a ton of safeties that will be vying for playing time.

If this were true and he felt that way then he would have transferred, not enter the draft.

They literally fired the entire defensive staff. There couldn’t be any more change.

Maybe he knows or suspects some players coming in that he knows he cant compete. So instead of staying and getting better with the competition he's moving on.

Maybe he was told that there are no more changes coming with defensive coaches. And he figured his development would suffer

Just when you think the rant couldn't get any dumber . . .

When you make a statement this dumb and it receives an upvote, it is really obvious that you upvoted yourself.

That's funny because the DL coach was recently dismissed.

Hold a second Texas, so you're saying he doesn't think he can compete for another year at LSU, but he is moving on to the NFL to compete against the best pro players? He is in for a rude awakening, he has not proven to be that good to go to NFL now. Needs another year development since torn ACL. He may be drafted late round, possibly undrafted free agent. It's his decision but based on his performance and ACL injury, it doesn't seem to be good one right now. Fine with us, it opens up a scholarship to get an experienced DL out of the transfer portal in the spring. Players in the portal will see LSU will have openings for DL.

I see some dumb shite posted on the rant but this is right up there with the best of them. So far all we have basically is a D cord.

Kelly fired the entire defensive staff. So are we just rolling with a DC and no position coaches next year?

Could you imagine the chaos? Based on what he's coached, we'd just play 6 LB's and 5 Safeties.

So he was told there were going to be no other coaches added to the staff and 3 guys were gonna run the whole defense? Yeah okay.

He was probably given bad advice that he’s a top 3 round pick and thinks his money will be great.
