That Rose Bowl was about as entertaining as CFB gets. It was awesome. Another championship game that's kind of underrated is the 2003 Fiesta between Ohio State and Miami. That was an intense game that had some amazing moments. I'll never forget when McGahee's leg exploded in half.

If you love defense it’s absolutely up there.

People don’t appreciate dominant Defensive games like they do shootouts.
It's also a little overstated how "non-offensive" it was. Michael Ford just happened to step out of bounds in OT, or else the final would have been 12-6.

Here's complete list which was compiled to honor the 150th anniversary of college football

Though I do not agree with some of these games, I'm glad to see that in the greatest games on this list the gumps lost all the ones they were mentioned in. As far as LSU games are concerned, I'd put the Earthquake game ahead of this one. LSU's last drive was a do or die drive that had 4th downs, missed TD's and was the most gut-wrenching pulse pounding, nerve racking, excited drive in LSU football history. Hodson's composure was put to the ultimate test and he shinned on that drive. All game Auburns defense stifled LSU's offense and the fact they put that drive together was near miraculous.

Terrible officiating doesn't make it a good game. It makes it a God awful game.
uhhhhh that was an incredible game. whether you agree with its outcome or not (I don’t), you have to at least acknowledge that it was the most entertaining game of 2018 for everyone outside of LSU fans

Best exit of a visiting stadium in my life. Those inbreds were brutal all day. That night in the bars was epic

I had the opposite experience. The Gumps were all super nice before the game because they were cocky they would win. As soon as the game ended, they were pissed. A few people were yelling at me and obviously trying to start a fight, so I skipped the bars that night.

Flutie and Kick 6 games which were all about the ending.

The Kick 6 game actually one hell of a game capped off by the best ending imaginable. Auburn went up 7-0 early, Bama scored 21 straight, then Auburn scored 2 straight TDs to tie it, they pinned Bama at their own 1-yard-line in the 4th and Bama hit a 99-yard TD pass to Cooper. Bama tried to stretch it to 10 and basically put it out of reach, but Auburn blocked the FG. Then Nick Marshall took Auburn down the field and scored a TD on an incredible throw to tie it with 30+ seconds left. And after all of that, then came the kick 6 ending.

If not for Ames voodoo, I think Reid's interception would have been remembered as the single greatest individual defensive play in the history of LSU football.

also it bears mentioning that if not for the kick 6 the game goes to OT. Red Elephant propaganda often claims that if not for that play they would have won the NC, when in reality they were no guarantee to win that game

Both one play games. You don't even see anything else in those games whenever they do bring them up.

I'd say the UGA/Oklahoma playoff game could go up there somewhere. Or the Penn St/USC game from the year prior.

Too low scoring of a game to be considered "one of the best"

Fans other than Bama and LSU thought it was a boring game.
Still we wait for your hero to produce a W over Bama, low scoring or otherwise.
Even a close loss would instill some confidence, but all we get is "We Comin" and the same old stretch pics.

Completely disagree.

The "Kick-Six" game drama is laid out above, but the Flutie game was edge of the seat stuff all game as well. If Flutie had not hit that pass, it was likely Bernie Kosar would have won the Heisman due to his performance in the game. It was two great quarterbacks playing at their highest level in the same game.

You didn't watch that game or just have no memory of anything but that play (which is understandable). But Bama had the longest pass in the history of their program (99 yards) to take the lead in the 4th quarter before Auburn came back and scored on a phenomenal play from Marshall with under a minute left to play before the kick 6 play even happened. It's just that it's one of the most famous plays in college football history, so of course it's what they will show. It was an incredible game.
