Fans other than Bama and LSU thought it was a boring game.
It was probably the greatest cliffhanger I've ever seen. Every play was important

I’m just happy 11/5 is even that high on the list. Quite the honor with ALL the games there were to choose from. Most people don’t hold this one in great regard being it was a defensive slug fest.
I get that, but I love this one. Old school, edge of your seat action from whistle to whistle where any play could have changed the outcome. It’s a fantastic game.
All aboard with #1 as well. That USC/Texas natty had it all...star power, high powered offenses and defenses, historic venue, thrilling seesaw action, and an epic conclusion. Seriously doubt I ever watch another game where I’m more on the edge of my seat, especially considering I didn’t have a dog in the fight and was just looking for entertainment. Boy did they deliver that night.

not for Les Miles' intransigence and the grotesque manner that season ended, I think Reid's interception would have been remembered as the single greatest individual defensive play in the history of LSU football. But of course, after the humiliation of 1/9, it will be relegated to nothing more than interesting footnote in the annals.
BS. It IS probably the greatest most impactful defensive play in LSU history.
This was the epic fight to the death and we won. 1/9 is the footnote. The BCS is gone; we ended the season by beating UGA for the title.

What did they rank the 21-0 performance in the NCG at?

In the “no one cares because it was a farce” category.

I think I saw that the 7OT game was somehow not even in the top 10 of ESPN 2018 game rankings.
Terrible officiating doesn't make it a good game. It makes it a God awful game.

Id take the LSU Florida game in 2007 over about half of that list.
Maybe its my bias, but that game was nuts on both sides.

By far the best I’ve seen in person.
I guess it loses some points because one of the pivotal plays was Tebow doinking his receiver in the helmet leading to an INT on the noggin rebound.

That USC vs Texas game was a great one. Still remember it like it was yesterday and I'm not a fan of either.

If Michael Ford stays inbounds and Les answers that postgame question on TV differently, then 1/9 is the capper vs Oklahoma State and not the nightmare that it was. Two simple missteps cost LSU big that night in the end. But it was an amazingly tight and tense game.

The Nebraska - OU game should be higher on this list.. it was a classic....

All 3 Alabama games were losses for Alabama. LOL!
I noticed that, too.
And, I hate to be the P&G guy, but the 2007 Florida-LSU ("LSU Goes For it on Fourth Down" - game) was as good as any of these, with just as much on the line.

Great game! Soooo many games could be in that list.

1. USC vs. Texas
2006 Rose Bowl

Yep, that's the problem. I agree with others about games that could/should be on the list. BUT, which ones would you take off the list to add those. That is where it would get difficult.
As far as any lists based on opinion I have ever seen this is probably one of the best. Perfect - maybe not but it can be argued that it is very close.

ANY college football fan that watched that whole game should have come away with" I can't believe what I just saw" attitude.... Not just LSU fans.....

If the national championship game was close then LSU would have been declared AP champs no matter who won
I disagree...A 20-17 Bama win means they would have won every poll out there......... They are fricking Bama........ BTW USC did not deserve the AP title in 2003... LSU would have smoked them............
