re: Should Have Never Fired Les

This is the slippery slope that is when you make a HC change. Sometimes, it can get worse, but I think Miss St. using a UF tactic of getting into the heads of the team had the desired effect again. Their eye-candy (coming out talking trash looking confident) affected Etling and some of the players, IMO. As a result, when Miss State began having some success they lost their discipline on both sides of the ball. I believe that's why it snow-balled so quickly.

Why is it so difficult for people to see that the firing of Les wasn't the problem but the hiring of Coach O that was the disaster? I mean the best thing on his resume seemed to be that he really, really, really wanted the job. If you were hiring a new manager at your business would you go with the resume that mimicked Coach O's?

If I knew we would hire Yaw Yaw, then yes. Keep Les.

Last night was an avalanche, but Les had 3 consecutive 17-point losses in 2015 and had gotten shut out at Arkansas 17-0 against a winless in the SEC Arkansas team the year before and 41-7 at Auburn.

Les miles was a cancer, and coach o is the radiation. We may be down and our hair may fall out, but you need to go through a little hell to get healthy.

No, should have conducted a long term, legitimate HC search. It's not like we didn't have time to woo and lock down any coach that had reciprocal interest.
But shite in one hand and wish in the other... right? We have what we have and we are what we are, and now we have to live with it. We wanted Miles gone, mo matter the cost. We got what we asked for.

I would have fired Less Miles. Moore Kilos after The Alabama embarrassment

Les needed to go regardless man. The game has passed him by and it was time for a change. They fricked up by rushing the hire of another coach. There were plenty of other options who would have jumped at the chance to coach at LSU. You have to make a thourough search when your top two candidates fall through. They acted like Orgeron would have been gone if they didn't hire him right away and that's not even close to the case. They didn't even consider Mullen and he just schooled the frick out of this coaching staff last night. I've supported Orgeron because regardless of what we wanted he's the head coach and I wanted to actually enjoy football this year, but performances like that are just heartbreaking and it's hard to get a team back from a arse kicking like that. He's not the answer and I think everyone was pretty aware that he was never a long term answer. I just wish Alleva would have conducted a proper coaching search before hiring him. There are a lot of coaches that should have been forced to say no before Orgeron was hired.

Allowing a dumbass like Alleva to fire and replace Miles was an infinitely riskier proposition than simply keeping Miles.
Making the case for replacing Miles was an easy one but you only do it if you have a chance to get better. LSU is much worse off now than they would be with Miles as the coach now.

Now y'all pussies want les back. Was calling for his head you got it. Coach O has a bad game. Without making excuses with key injuries. Now you want him fired. Yall are pathetic just whinning arse pussies

I never imagined O being named as the head coach. After the UF game I assumed that any notion of it was completely eliminated. I was wrong.

Louisianians wonder why the rest of the world sees the state as a bunch of dumbasses, well, this is a great example. If you are a "it was time for Les to go" person, you're one of the many single digit IQs drooling around the place. This is on you as much as anyone else. YOU are the cancer to the program. You people have no perspective on football or anything else. Just go away, morons.

I probably said it 100 times on here that when Miles gets fired, we regress for a while. People called me an idiot. Those people said, "it can't get worse." Well frick those people. As usual, I was right.
Get used to it. Les needed to go, but he was a great coach and replacing him with a better one was not going to be easy.

It was time for Les to go we just didn't replace him with a legitimate head coach

Shut the hell up. Look what he did with the talent we had last year. He was terrible in his final years.
Posted on 9/17/17 at 2:23 pm to sta4ever
Yup. Looks to me like Les Miles might just end up being the very best football coach ever to coach at LSU.
Problem with that is: nobody wants him to be a coach at their school and the NFL doesn't want him either.

Nah, it was time for Miles to go.
However, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that he would have put out a better product than what we saw yesterday.

O being terrible doesn't mean Miles should have been kept. It just means O was a bad hire.
