BTW, the other one is FIJI. Apparently they have stepped up their game since my time at LSU.

Two LSU fraternities have been placed on interim suspensions while the university investigates allegations of hazing and other violations of its Code of Conduct.

The two investigations — which opened on Sept. 17 — involve the Delta Kappa Epsilon and Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) chapters.

The Delta Kappa Epsilon investigation stems from multiple incidents reported this semester, according to a letter sent to the fraternity by Director of the Student Accountability and Advocacy Office Jonathan Sanders, which was obtained by The Reveille. FIJI is under investigation for a single incident reported on Sept. 10.

The suspensions mean the fraternities may not have contact between new and initiated members and may not host social events, intramural activities or chapter meetings unless directed by the university. The interim suspensions will remain in effect while the investigations are conducted. Both fraternities are alleged to have broken hazing regulations and engaged in coercive behavior outlined in the Code of Conduct.

According to the letters, coercive behavior is an act that is intended to demean, disgrace, humiliate or degrade a student. Hazing is an act with implicit or explicit conditions for initiation, admission, affiliation or continued membership in a group or organization that could endanger the physical health of a student, involves the consumption of alcohol or drugs, sexual activities, violating laws, destroying property or disrupting academic performance.

Delta Kappa Epsilon is also under investigation for endangerment, misuse of alcohol and failure to comply, while FIJI is under additional investigations only for complicity regulations. In 2019, Delta Kappa Epsilon was suspended after hazing violations, engaging in coercive behavior and failure to comply with university rules. It was supposed to be suspended until May 2029, but was allowed to return early in 2025.

Both chapters will meet with an LSU dean of students designee no later than seven business days after the letter was sent out. The hearings may result in a revocation, continuance or modification of the suspensions. “Our goal is that every chapter on campus is successful by taking advantage of the resources LSU makes available to all greek organizations,” a statement from LSU reads. “When hazing is reported LSU must take it very seriously and immediately implement our conduct process which is what has occurred with these two fraternities.” The LSU Student Advocacy and Accountability office declined to comment on the investigations.
