Walker Howard is not transferring just because he doesn’t get anointed in year 2. He’ll stay and compete, and he’ll be one injury away from being the starter.

exactly and anyone that says NIL money would be a reason does not know the Howards at all

arse far as nuss transferring...who cares if we get JD back another year? he was in danger of getting beat out by WH anyways. tons of arm talent but hasnt put it together yet. i hope he kills it somewhere else.

You think a guy wants to sit a year to develop, but refuses to sit 2?

That makes no sense

I think he stays but you guys are going a little overboard with this ‘no way’ shite

It’s open season for QBs every offseason with the transfer portal. It’s good and bad for lsu, but much more good.

Redshirting one year isn’t rare, but you’re going to tell him in Y2 you won’t even be competing for a job either. I’m not sure that was his expectation 9 months ago but I could be wrong

Burrow 2018 Burrow 2019 should be the poster child for players deciding to return

It also helped bringing in Brady to get the right system for the weapons they had on offense.

Hopefully Jayden doesn't mind competing for the starting job.

IMO, Daniels returning would be best for everyone involved, including him.

I wonder what Jamie Howard is going to have to say about Jayden coming back, if in deed he does.

He can say whatever he wants and it will carry as much as weight as Jayden's dad, Doug and Rickie's dad. Honestly, his opinion on whether Jayden returns is no more important than Slade Roy's dad or mine for that matter. Jamie's opinion on Walker is a totally different subject.

As a Tiger who lives in TN and has watched Malik Willis play a few games, JD is not even close to being ready for the next level

I think he would get an NFL opportunity if he came out based on his measurables and potential ceiling, but could drastically improve his stock by coming back next year, he needs more development. Similar to Jalen Hurts and how he improved his passing skills with more reps. I also think he sees that we will be that much better next year with another chance at a playoff appearance.

Walker's out then. In this league, with the current NIL money getting thrown around and the ability to transfer, you establish yourself early or risk sitting and getting passed up by someone else down the road.

Yeah QB's that transfer from LSU have definitely set the standard for success the last few years.

I actually like the fact that he comes back. It gives us a very talented roster with experience everywhere. I then like having Walker Howard start the following 2-3 years after Jayden leaves.

Jayden with another year in the system and another year of developing under this staff will be fun to watch. His passing should much improved.

Of course Daniels is returning.. Where was he going to go?

He's not an NFL talent, really good college QB.
Day 3 pick at best

It irritates me (probably more than it should) that the first thing a lot of y’all think about is losing a person who hasn’t ever taken a meaningful snap at LSU… rankings and highlight films aside, hall have no clue how Nuss or Howard are going to do at a D1 level.

I mean, in my eyes, I’d rather have one more year of Daniels since we know what he’s capable of, instead of wishing that someone else would stay, based off potential alone… it’s just weird to me. Y’all treat this just like Xbox in that y’all think that development and production is a guarantee. It’s not.

Think he’d have to be. His bad games were likely still too bad to get drafted really high.

Right now I'd imagine him being maybe a 3rd to 5th rounder, but if he were to play how he had been playing before the Arkansas game to end the season and against UGA, I could see him getting a significant boost.

He needs to work on his long-ball game down the sideline. He throws it out of bounds a lot. If he could do that and develop more of a long-ball game over the middle, then he could be a really high pick with his elite running skills and the accuracy on the short and intermediate stuff. He also seems to be a good kid who works hard, so he has a lot going for him.

Thats cute of him to say, but if jayden balls out for 4 straight games like he did from tennessee to bama, and gets a 1st or 2nd round grade, he will probably leave

Howard is gone if Daniels returns

He and Jamie watched the so-called open competition, and JD was just here for one year. They wont trust that Denbrock ends up finding another running QB in the portal, after Walker burns another year

Its a new era in college sports. Bo Nix left his legacy school and is now in the running for the Heisman. Walkers wont hesitate to do the same

I don't know anything about Howard's thoughts, but I know that you don't know shite about shite. You are the same guy who has constantly talked shite about Daniels being terrible and called Brian Kelly "Les Kelly" while saying it would take him two years to see that his philosophy is a failure in the SEC.

Meanwhile, LSU beat Bama in Kelly's first year with JD being named SEC Offensive Player of the Week, they are 8-2, won the SEC West with a game to spare, and they are still alive for the playoff. As usual, good call.
