I am not an attorney nor have I ever worked in a law firm.
I worked for a multi-location automotive franchised dealership in the late 80's which was sued under the RICO statute for those "customer service package" additions to vehicle purchases that were nothing but some oil change coupons and other pretty much worthless discount coupons, most of which was covered under factory warranty.
The HR and other discriminatory parts that many posters are commenting on are not at all the big ticket item. The RICO part is.
When sued, the dealerships' very prominent law firm went into full panic and defense mode because, to quote their team, "you don't wait for RICO discovery, you do your best to mitigate the damage because there will be damage and lots of it."

And to think... the primary defense of Miles by his camp was 'we have a good man, a man of integrity, running our program'. Even going so far as to throw rocks at Saban for his 'i won't be the coach at Alabama' statement as if that made Miles better than Nick. LOL. fricking irony is delicious.

How much longer is she employed at LSU?
I guess they really can't terminate her now

Very bad look for LSU but absolutely devastating for Miles. She torched him.

I would start donating more than the minimum requirement again if I knew that my extra funds would got to help pay lawyers to make sure this sorry sack of dogshit never gets a dime from LSU

Woodward hasn’t met with her, so I’d say he’s part of the problem at this point.
She is lawyered up. I wouldn't meet with her either and Woodward is not required too...she is not one of his direct reports. All she presents is downside risk. I'm sure in the back of Woodward's mind is "do no harm".

If that’s true, I really don’t have a clue how verge keeps his job

Woodward and Ausberry are planning to conduct a full-scale evaluation of the athletic department. The two administrators are close, so close that Ausberry’s sons call Woodward Uncle Scotty.
Their relationship dates back to their jogging days together in the 1990s, when Ausberry was an academic adviser, not yet promoted to athletics, and Woodward was a political lobbyist, not yet hired by Emmert as an LSU academic administrator.
SI article when Woodward was hired

She’s claiming being discriminated against by another black person and a woman. Lewis was just someone deemed an easy target in all of this. She’s also had such a successful career spanning 3 head coaches because she’s a smart, organized, relatable, black lady who is unbelievable with parents of recruits who almost always are black.
Correct. Sharon Lewis is the bomb. I hope she doesn't leave LSU.
If you haven't worked with this group, you really have no idea what it is like in there.
If Sharon leaves, there will be a HUGE drop off and gap to fill.

Sharon went full Les on Les

Who are you referring to?

Verge is damn near bulletproof. He is married into the Morial family in New Orleans. If LSU fires him, get ready for more racial BS.

In addition to Ausberry, Segar and Bahnsen, other defendants include current and former members of the LSU Board of Supervisors, the law firm Taylor Porter, former LSU President F. King Alexander and Athletic Director Scott Woodward
Interesting that the AD, Alleva, at the time this all occurred isn't included in her lawsuit.

The good news is LSU is taking affirmative action to install systemic processes to make sure these kind of issues rarely happen and if they do happen are addressed swiftly:

Verge is gone and he knows he is gone. I would be he quietly steps down at some point in the future.

You mean the guy that we now know tried to terminate Les for cause because Les was harassing student workers?

Lol she’s a joke
Sharon Lewis is a good woman who cares about her department and what she does. I worked with her some (not a whole lot) but from what I could tell just from the limited time spent with her, she is a woman who cares deeply about what she does. She was highly stressed but performs well under pressure. Of course, I didn't work with her very closely so I have no way of knowing 100% if what she is alleging is true but judging from what I do know about her, I have no reason to believe she's making up her accusations.

She told Segar she felt she was being retaliated against for reporting Miles. Lewis disclosed that a different football coach was sexually harassing her.
The whole article is littered with names, specifics, etc., but in the part of the article, they only reference "a different football coach" subjecting her to sexual harassment. I wonder why and who it is supposed to be?
ETA: Why is this thread anchored??
