You can, I’m not, also think we should give our new coach a few days at least to see who he can get brought in.
Basketball can be rebuilt extremely quickly, Think we got a little less recruiter (now we know why) and a much better x and o game day coach.
We will see, but at least give the dude a chance.

Not that you’re wrong but it’s still a bad sign for someone like O’Neal to be leaving. It’s now his second transfer on top of his injury history and he’s leaving a place where he’d probably get his best shot at big minutes. You also have to take into account how KJ Williams was featured for McMahon, a player that resembles O’Neal’s skill set which strengthens the prospect of O’Neal maximizing his potential by staying. Entering the portal doesn’t guarantee he’s leaving but it’s still worrisome to say the least.
I get your point about O'Neal, but dude the time for "signs" and worrying about what's to come is over.
Have you not accepted what is going to happen in the short term? This is a multi-year rebuild. We are going to hit rock bottom. If you are hoping we can put together a good year on the shoulders of players that stay, you are out of your mind.

It’s just so deflating that next year looked like it was going to finally all come together for this program…and then boom right back to a total rebuild

That coach at Illinois Underwood must be a huge arse hole. Adam Miller hit the portal last year, now another really good ILL playing leaving now

McMahon just got a better version of Shareef With the NWST kid

Or he doesn't pay well enough

Maybe. Or maybe the guards are tired of force feeding Kofi in the post 30 times a game like it’s 1976

He has been Wade’s biggest miss on not playing someone on his roster. Absolutely better than Reid. Bigger than he’s given credit for (cause he’s not his dad). Extremely athletic. Moves around the court with purpose. Doesn’t hesitate. Love that he took shots even though he knew he wouldn’t be in long. Good looking shot too. @ Arkansas he caught a rebound by his hip mid air on a dead play and windmill dunked it…..Reid couldn’t even start to think about doing that. I honestly don’t understand why he didn’t play. Rebounded, blocked, and finished at the basket. He was huge in the @ Florida win and home A&M wins (where he actually got minutes). Only negative was some careless fouls. Reid, Mwani, and Eason had careless fouls every game.

He should. Good player with Billionaire iconic legacy father ~ he needs to separate himself from this crap.

I think Shareef not being healthy enough to play non-conference ball really hurt him this year. He for sure showed flashes in conference play, but I think he was still gaining his footing and it’s tough to go through that during conference play. For a guy who has been in school as long as Shareef, he really hasn’t played all that much basketball.

Interesting that you should mention K.J. Williams. Since McMahon was hired, I have hoped perhaps Williams would transfer to LSU.
I suppose time will tell.

I wouldn't be surprised if he goes back to cali.

Size is a premium especially in a power 5 Conf. All our front court guys should’ve been prioritized. There are enough capable guards out there to find replacements for the ones we’re losing but front court guys who can just compete enough to not get you killed are harder to find than you think. You must not have been around for the days of Darcy Malone, John Odo and Elbert Robinson.

Actually, it could be looked at more than one way. Kind of a slap in his dad's face, IMO but none of us know the rest of the story. I do know Shaq was very proud that his kid found his way to LSU.

Damn. O’Neal would see significant playing time next year.
Posted on 3/28/22 at 11:59 pm to DallasTiger45
I think Wade had his head up Reid’s arse for some weird reason. O’Neal has unfinished business @ LSU maybe he reevaluates his decision. But most coaches take him on just to have Shaq show up 2-3 times a season for publicity.

Should go to Tulane, average player at best
Idiot. Dude could turn into a damn superstar next year. He’s constantly been nicked up and if he can stay healthy next year, he will kill it. I hope he stays and does it here. He showed quite a few good flashes that made me think “shite, he’s gonna be so good next year”
