This is the mindset of all of the top high school kids regardless if they come to LSU or not. Go watch any announcement ceremony and I guarantee you at least 90% of the kids talk about 3 years.

I’m gonna be pretty damn pissed if E retires now instead of after the Championship. He could have given the keys to Brady and retired to be with his family after the long historic season plus awful tragedy. We need him now though
Brady. Would. Not. Have. Passed. Up. An. NFL. Job.
How many times must this be said
Posted on 12/21/20 at 1:22 pm to turnpiketiger
Wouldn’t have mattered. NFL OC job is better than a college OC job. And especially if Brady hated recruiting like many have mentioned.

He probably knew Brady wasn't staying

They were going to make Brady the highest paid coordinator in CFB. He wasn’t staying regardless of what E did

I honestly can’t understand people here who think a 30 year old with a brilliant mind like Brady’s would ever pass up an NFL job

We could have offered Joe Brady HC job and he still probably takes the OC job. He hated recruiting, specifically just deal with high school kids.

Yeah, but what if they "strenuously" asked him to stay?

No coordinator hires his position coaches. He might have so input though.

We might be about to see what O is really made of in the sense of having to hire coordinators since he inherited what he had when he took over for Miles.
What?

I get it people love to shite on E but the offense was still good for most of the season with his starting QB going down in game 3 and 2 true freshman playing the other 7 games throwing the ball to mainly freshman receivers and a terrible o line.
I believe he is retiring and I think LSU can get someone better but he was still a good OC at LSU. Him allowing Joe Brady to implement the offense and control as much as he did, which Ensminger did not have to do at all, brought him from good to great but without him he is just good.
Yes Sir you got it right there. coach E is a good man and a good football guy. Go out with a Natty and forget about this crappy season from hell.

He fired Les’ OC immediately. Day 1

Just because things are already done behind the scenes doesn't mean we hear about it immediately.
