That was ridiculous how high he threw. Definitely deserved a warning and I can understand why UK would be mad. We would be as well if Tenn or A&M did that to us.
I really regret missing this game. I might have to catch it on app. This could be the spark that sends them on a run.
It was a completely ridiculous move. If this was MLB, or even minor league ball, the next guy at bat would have been drilled. The fact that doesn't happen in college baseball leads to more absurd behavior...from both pitchers and hitters.
That said, if this is the move that galvanizes the team and they start playing better then the flip was totally worth it.

I was also watching the ball leave the yard, not the bat flip. It was a bit ridiculous and Jay may have made light of it postgame but I am betting he said something to Seth after the game. Man, don't do that...we can't afford to have you ejected for stupidity.

This was more of a bat throw than a bat flip. Personally I think he could have done a much more “taunting” style bat flip. He launched a kind of awkward top heavy object pretty much as hard as he could around a whole bunch of people.
Imo it was a dumb move not bc he was showboating but dumb bc he could have accidentally hurt someone.

by rule should have been a DQ, just like the Shaw player that threw the helmet in the state championship - the rule is there for a reason

Great to see the ump's let the young man express his excitement and not pitch him from the game. Love seeing the fire back in the coach and team.

Considering Kentucky was bat flipping and staring down pitchers for walks. Yeah, for base on balls
A walk is the equivalent to a HR in Kentucky’s small ball style.

If you do a little flip towards your own team it shouldn’t be a big dea
UK spent the weekend doing bat tosses and flips for fricking walks. They earned that flip, but they definitely need to be toned down from that in the future.

Like if that makes it to the stands we got a problem
Yeah, we don’t need a “Hey bartender. Jobu needs a refill” moment

All of this. You can't throw a bat 100 feet in the air after blasting a HR and expect to not get a warning
I didn’t see how far he launched it at first because I was so excited about the HR, so I was cussing the umps and calling bullshite when the announcers said they were talking about a bat flip…until I saw the replay. Then I appreciated their restraint.

Bat flip was so high the refs lost the bat in the sun!
Glad they didnt eject him, great moment for him and LSU baseball fans.
