Wade is an all around very good coach. As was stated earlier we will need big men to advance as a program. It wears a team out when they constantly have to collapse in to help defensively on the inside and a good team like was Michigan tonight will find a way from 3 point land to make you pay for helping on the inside.

You talking about the coach who went 3-2 in 5 games vs vandy Florida Yale Maryland and Michigan state after Wade went 16-2 in the SEC that was in one of its strongest years ever?

Didn’t change the facts though. If OP is asking about x and o, the best LSU ever did under a WW coached team is the sweet 16 when he couldn’t coach.

I think that has to be considered. How would it not be?

where were they in the tourney with Calipari's great recruiting?

Calipari is a horrendous X’s and O’s Coach, so this is not a great example haha

Better than Dale Brown regarding x/o’s. Not as good of a defensive coach as Brady. Overall a better coach than both.

What is odd is that Wade’s VCU teams were not good offensively but very good defensively. They were 36th and 30th in DRtg his 2 years there, here he’s never been higher than 156th. his offenses here are top 30 but were never top 100 at VCU.

Next year will tell a lot about Wade. It’ll be his first year without a stud point guard to handle the offensive load. Perhaps we ratchet up the defense to counter.

Gotta disagree there man and Wade’s even admitted it. He’s stated he doesn’t wanna play big but that he needs to sometimes. The player you’re talking about who went to Memphis is 6-8, hardly a big, and is a terrible offensive player.

First off for starters, Michigan tonight had statically there 2nd best offensive game. They were never really a high scoring team.

So the best LSU has done under WW didn’t include his players and he didn’t coach in the tournament. Is that what you’re saying?

So he didn't coach them when we ran through the SEC for the title a few years ago you? You're an imbecile.

He also got LSU to its first SEC title game in the tournament in 28 years. He is way ahead of schedule for the shitty program he took over.

No one cares about regular season in college basketball. It’s all about the tourney. What sport are you watching??

I don’t understand this fan base. CWS or bust and CPM is out. Improved regular season in basketball and an early exit is good coaching.

Lmao. Back to back tournaments for the basketball team for the first time since ‘05-‘06, should have (and would have been) 3 straight if not for covid - haven’t done that since Dale Brown.

Do you honestly think that is at all comparable to the baseball program?

I don’t hate Wade. I don’t hate any LSU coach. But anointing him the messiah bc he won an SEC title 3 years ago seems premature.

Fantastic recruiter. Just like Dale Brown.
Questionable game plan. Just like Dale Brown.
Recruiting allegations. Just like Dale Brown.

I would just like him to prove his worth like the other major sports coaches have done. That’s it. I measure success based on the postseason. LSU should always have enough talent to get to the postseason.

Pretty sure he got to the post season. We lost the SEC Tournament by a botched put back and gave a top four team a great game in the tournament. Do you even March Madness?

I agree 100%.
Problem is with seeding and perception, that A- is tainted. Fair or not, that’s the national perception. And if your best attribute is under question, I understand the criticism.

1. Near the top
2. Near the top
3. Near the top

Had the accusations not come out Wade would probably be at a blue blood program right now. His offenses have never had problems scoring despite what some of you think. Its not just "let a guy go one on one". His strategy is obviously these 3 things: 1. Play at a fast pace to get a high number of possessions, 2. Give his talent freedom to make plays. 3. In doing both of those get to the foul line and crush it from there.

Thats not a bad strategy. Its just not the strategy you want to see. But the guy with the 8th best offense in the country and the most wins in the sec since his arrival disagrees with you.
