There isn’t a program in the country that has consistently dominated in the big 3. Florida is about as close as it comes and they just lost to a 15 seed.
LSU baseball will always have high expectations. I think most LSU basketball fans are happy making the tournament and making a run to the Sweet 16/Elite 8 every 5 years or so with a final four run mixed in.

That’s the thing though, before Wade we made the tournament twice in 11 years. He is 3/4. And the 1 year he didn’t make it was with a totally depleted roster that Jones left in a dumpster fire. And even that team was competitive.

Of course, it matters. When I'm watching packed houses in college basketball in the regular season (minus this year), it's not because no one gives a shite. Also, it affects your seeding if you make the tournament.

Are you comparing LSU baseball to LSU basketball expectations? PM took over a program that far and away had the best home-field environment and LSU has led the nation in attendance for like 2 decades. Also, they had won five national titles before he took over. LSU was set up to dominate in baseball. Even now there are only 3 other schools in the nation that average over 8,000 fans and none of them have ever won a national championship. And only one other school in the nation averages over 5000 fans. LSU has a major recruiting advantage in baseball.

Now that I understand and agree with. WW improved the program. It was left with shite and he improved. But then again begs the question the Op has. Is WW good with x/o’s or just better than the last guy?
By that logic, CPM should have a life long contract after taking over for Smoke.

To me he deserves criticism in roster construction more than X’s and O’s. This team lacked a true floor general and big man. His best team had that in Naz Reid and Tremont Waters

Don’t forget about KBW either. I think neither O’Neal or PennJohnson being able to play/produce really put this team in a bind
