Seems like pitching may be the weakest link for 2027 LSU baseball

Still not sold on Evans as a starter and Schmidt hasn't been mentally tough enough to become a Friday/Saturday night ace. Really think we need to add another ace to this pitching staff beyond what we have in the tank right now.

We all thought it would be the strength last year and were proven wrong. Assumptions in this NIL world are pointless.

We do need some arms.
And our catchers to learn how to play the position.

We’re not done in the portal

Be patient. Jay’s gonna get some arms.

The much improved infield defense will lessen the stress on the staff as well.

I hope you’re right but jay recently came out and said that the bulk of our pitching next year will be the same crew but playing the way he knows they’re capable of.
I know we’ve got talent and bringing in Hood but I really hope we bring in a couple more guys that are absolute strike throwers. The walks this season were brutal

You think Jay is done in the portal? Lol

We will get at least 2 more high level arms in the portal...and dont count out the freshman class either. We didnt get anything out the freshmen this season but we almost always do. Freshman class is GIGANTIC, also have a few JUCO pitchers coming in

All three pitchers are at a cross roads of putting up or shutting up. There’s a lot of motivation for the starters to improve. Also Evans shut down UCLA pretty well in Omaha last year. The talent has always been there; they just need to execute.

We still need arms, but we are not done adding bodies so too early to tell.

Are you and Tigernomics twins? Can you wait a while before posting stupid shite like this? LOL, we will likely add more pitchers.

Can you name the pitcher(s) in the portal who would fit that mold?

Wait till Jan. It’ll be the deepest staff ever according to every fan here.

Is there a possibility more pitchers will enter the portal? My understanding is many players still enter the portal in the middle of June for one reason or another. I don’t know if that means an ace, but hopefully more arms.

Evans and Schmidt will be the best 1-2 punch in the country brother.

Jay is penciling in his roster. He doesn’t want to go through this again. He wants to compete for championships. More arms on the way.
I still think we need a catcher. Pitchers don’t pitch well to substandard catchers no matter how many home runs they hit. Gotta catch.

You bring in Hood, get Moore back, and expect SOMETHING from Evans/Schmidt.
You will have one of the most talented rotations in the country. You should have one of the best rotations in the country.

It would help if the pitchers quit throwing WPs.
