Or just bench curiel. Why is he getting special treatment?

because he is

great defensively
still takes great ABs
is the team's best baserunner

I could see him being moved down. You aren't benching the guy now. You need him to win it all.

There are people on this board that want this guy benched.

100% intellectually dishonest. Everyone has said the same thing. His .111 BA vs LHP in the conference means he doesn’t need to be in there against LHP pitchers that have sweepers, sliders that come from the 3/4 arm slot.

And those 2 hits he did have were in the same game vs Mizzou.

These are not the stats of even a decent offensive team

Those are the stats of a team that could not make it out of a Regional

Pretty simple to see why they're showing this because it's very obvious for the past month they've struggled with the bat.

There's a period in here where LSU went against some excellent pitching so of course it will look bad. However, you have to look at the fact they also struggled in a midweek game that run ruled LSU, an awful bullpen in SC, and a few bad pitchers in the tournament. Understandable they'd struggle against some guys in the Tenn/Arkansas/TAMU series. So yes, the struggles are real.

The guy Ole Miss marched out there yesterday was throwing decent stuff but in all honesty, it was LSU's lack of discipline over the plate that bailed that guy out of multiple innings. He was a 6+ era guy for a reason. I think it's undeniable they're in a slump. We'll see who we get matched up with but hopefully and doubtful it will be as good as SEC pitching.

Because they have options there and don’t have them in other positions.

Dickenson never swings at the first pitch and teams know it and grove the first pitch to him and get ahead in the count. My assessment on the team is a majority of the time we watch strikes and chase balls out of the zone. Notice I said a majority not every time

Also why would anyone throw Jones anything other than a slider down and away?

So not a power hitting group but lots of them strikeout as frequently as they can get a hit.

There’s plenty of power in this lineup. Pay attention more

Truth bomb. Better get turned around or we won’t make it far.

Honestly, I think our hitters generally have a great understanding of where the strike zone is supposed to be, I've noticed this for the last few years, especially early in games.

We swing at far less BS than most college teams.

However, they seem to get flustered when these crappy SEC umps get inconsistent and that's when we see a lot of flailing about at the plate.
