Before another conference game is played by any team, the SEC must publicly state what happens if LSU and Florida only play seven conference games. Will they be eligible to win their divisions with one less conference game played than the other teams? Will Winning % be used or will some special determination be used to determine the division champions?

Although the by-laws state that division winners are the teams with the highest winning %, the by-laws also state that each team will play 8 conference games.

Unless Florida comes to Baton Rouge on November 19th, this game is unlikely to be played.

There has been chatter about Dec. 03.

I think Sankey does what Foley did and just procrastinates until both teams lose again so he doesn't have to deal with it.

That said, I'd like a timely resolution as well.

Isn't there a meeting this weekend with the SEC and the school presidents? You think they will resolve the "if they only play 7 games" question in this meeting?

Other than you wanting to know and pr purposes, why? How will it effect games being played one way or the other?

I agree Sankey is stalling and hoping that we lose so he won't have to deal with this.

To prove he can make a freaking decision and not get bailed out by waiting until it's a moot point.

Florida should be denied a spot in the SEC Championship Game...Every attempt was made by LSU to play this game, and Florida obfuscated at every turn.

Pretty sure that is and will continue to be his only course of action. Should both teams go undefeated, he will announce on Dec 1st that there was no way possible to make it happen. Blah Blah Blah and a Roll Tide.

True, BUT, the commissioner let them off the hook by postponing the game. No repercussions for them not cooperating. He can't make them forfeit, he can't just flat out say they aren't eligible to win the East.

the same reason we have rules to begin with...there is nothing in the rules about teams playing less than 8 conference games. They need to craft these rules NOW and not in late November...for transparency reasons.

I sure hope you aren't expecting this to actually happen on a sensible time table, Poultry Boy, Fearless Leader. I think this is an impasse until events force the issue. Uncertainty is not the same as events forcing the issue. I expect long periods of silence punctuated by shots across the LSU bow.

I think the more time passes without clarification of what the ruling is, the more likely they are going to stick with the wording "best winning percentage" and let it play out.

They aren't gonna do shite except sit and hope Florida and LSU lose again. Then it won't matter if they have one less conference game than anyone else.
