What distinction are you trying to make here?
The NCAA does the same thing, It sets rules and penalties for the institutions.
The courts have indicated very clearly that the NCAA cannot make rules limiting these players.

He is in violation of the Court order. Hopefully he will be charged with contempt of Court soon

Moscona said the order specifically states that it will be a violation of the order of any institution seek to punish the college is involved and they will be held to attempt to court of court.
I didn’t read this just passing it along. If it’s a federal court he can send the US Marshalls to arrest him tomorrow, and all the college presidents if he wants too.

I really want to say that is ridiculous and will never happen but at this point anything is possible I guess. What a complete shite show this has become! But that would be hilarious if it really plays out like that!

This is the wrong interpretation. NCAA was mandatory. Conference membership is not so the anti-trust rules do not apply to the SEC or BIG Ten. Big difference. They set the rule sand punishments. Nothing a judge can do to the conferences. Zero anti-trust.

This is not getting talked about much but I was thinking the same thing. There have been foreign pro players in college sports for years. I think that will definitely be argued in court with the inevitable lawsuits coming.

The SEC doesn’t have power over the players but they do over the schools. Court orders are irrelevant if no school will play them due to the ban. These kids will never play.

I don’t like Mascona, but he said something interesting today. What if this is all part of the SEC/Big10’s plan to make a public spectacle to try and force Congress into action? The longer this drags out the worse it reflects upon the NCAA further proving their lack of institutional control making Congress get involved. Idk, an interesting thought.

But I can’t help but think how much these guys could potentially help us from a depth perspective, which is a huge difference maker and what separates good from great teams in the current landscape. It might be worth it to call Sankey’s bluff and make him do something about. I don’t think he has the stones but could ve proven wrong.

Fine, but conference rules are consistently upheld by the courts. NCAA rules are not.
LSU has a choice whether to play in the SEC conference. So, LSU can do as they please in the ACC which hasn't made such a rule yet.

So let me get this straight. You can play your sixth year because you navigated the legal system prior to the 5 for 5 rule, but you can't play your fifth year even though you navigated and got your TRO prior to a rule in place by your league that prevents you from playing. This is about some stupid @ss messed up $hit if I ever seen it.
Look, I'm for the rule about pro players not being able to play college sports, but all of these cases are so hypocritical. Fine, don't allow DQW or Z Harris on the team, but OM should also not be allowed to have Chambliss on their team.
